Resurfacing works on the Weavers’ Way between High Street, and Holmes Road be closed to all traffic; foot, horse, and cycle.

Resurfacing work is set to recommence following Government easing of COVID-19 restrictions for construction works. The scheme will carry on from where construction had to stop due to COVID-19 lockdown back in March 2020.

The resurfacing work will start on 20 July 2020 until 07 August 2020 from High Street to Stepping Stone Lane, and then continuing from Stepping Stone Lane to Holmes Road.

This project will improve surface conditions along the Weaver’s Way between High Street and Holmes Road by constructing a stable, level, unsealed surface, widening the current path to 2.5 metres, and reducing water retention to create an all season, accessible, off- road route for walkers (including access impaired users), horse riders, and cyclists.

During the period of resurfacing and with COVID-19 safety measures in place, the route will be closed to the public.

COVID-19 safety measures are in place to protect members of the public and site staff. Please follow government guidelines and onsite notices to stay safe: • For your safety do not enter construction area • For your safety follow site staff instructions • Keep at least two metres apart from anyone outside your household at all times • Take hygiene precautions when you are outside • Wash your hands as soon as you are back indoors • Take hand sanitiser with you when you set off in case there are no handwashing facilities

The County Council thanks people for their patience while this path surface improvement work is carried out.

This is the third stage of a larger resurfacing scheme on Weavers’ Way with sections at , Felmingham and Honing already completed.

The work which will cost £826,150 will be carried out by County Council’s Community and Environmental Services Department and their contractors. This scheme has been externally funded by the European Agriculture Fund for Rural Development as part of the Rural Development Programme for .
