Highlights • On 15 September 2013, AFAD - the Disaster and Emergency Management Agency of Government of Turkey - announced that the total number of Syrians registered and assisted in 21 camps in 10 provinces was 200,027, including 562 Syrians receiving medical treatment in hospitals. AFAD reported that during the weekend (13-15 Sep 2013), a total of 1,081 Syrians were admitted and registered in the camps and 1,300 Syrians have voluntarily returned to .

• While the total number of Syrians in the camps has remained around 200,000 since mid-June, the number of non-camp Syrians has been increasing. Officials informed UNHCR that the data of those who have been registered in Ceylanpinar but have been living outside on permission were being transferred to the AFAD Coordination Center in Urfa to be included in non-camp population, while other cases were transferred to Mardin AFAD as they are stated to be residing in .

• In Kilis container site, the camp officials informed UNHCR Field Team that an Advisory Council was elected by the camp residents to represent refugees with the camp management. Reportedly the council is composed of 26 mostly educated camp residents (14 women, 12 men) . The council will meet the camp management twice a week to discuss the issues and requests from the camp residents. The UNHCR Field Team is also invited to participate to these meetings.

• The Camp management in Adana Saricam camp informed UNHCR that the vocational course provided to the some of the camp residents on maintenance of electrical items has proven to be beneficial to the Legend management. Some of the graduates are now competently fixing the electrical outlets in the camp, not only for themselves, but also helping the camp management to fix the broken items of others. Reportedly this has Military Defectors also become cost-effective for the camp management. Current Tent Camps • Camp officials informed UNHCR Field teams that the registration of refugees that are not yet registered Current Container with immediate family members in the camps, as well as the re-registration of the camps' population, is on- Container Camps Under going.
