Google Cardboard: How to Use Google Cardboard Set Up: 1. Download the Google Cardboard app to your phone. a. Access the Google Play store at https://play.google.com. To download an app from the Google Play store you will need to log in with your Gmail account. b. Type “Google Cardboard” into the search bar. c. Download the Cardboard app to your phone. 2. Launch the Google Cardboard app on your phone by clicking on the icon. 3. Place your phone on top of the NFC Tag on the cardboard. The screen of your phone should be facing upwards, with the back of the phone making contact with the NFC tag. 4. If desired, use the rubber band attached to the Cardboard to secure your phone in place. 5. For sound, either turn up the sound on your phone or plug in a set of headphones. 6. Fold up the front panel of the Cardboard viewer, attaching the Velcro pieces on the front panel to those on the top of the viewer. 7. To use the Cardboard: Hold the Cardboard up your face and look through the lenses in the two eyeholes. Using Google Cardboard: 1. Navigate through the Cardboard menu by turning your head left or right. While using an app, turning your head will change your view. 2. Use the small metal ring on the left side of the cardboard to “select” or “click” on things on your screen. 3. Turn the entire Cardboard to the right to return to the main menu at any time. Using the SILS Nexus Phone and Google Cardboard: 1. Power on the Nexus by pressing and holding the smaller button on right side of the phone. 2. Log into your Gmail account: Click on the icon for the Google “Play Store” and log in with your Gmail email address and password. When prompted to “Add Billing Information” press the “Remind Me Later” button. 3. Use the Google Cardboard as directed above. 4. **Removing Personal Data from the SILS Android Phone:** a. When using the SILS Nexus Phone with Google Cardboard it is important to remember to clear your personal data off of the phone when you are finished. b. On the phone home screen press the center button. This button is a white circle, with two rows of smaller circles inside of it. c. Scroll through the pages until you see the “Settings” button. This button is gray and shaped like a gear (This button is labeled “Settings” and is different than the “Google Settings” button). d. Scroll down to the “Personal” section of the Settings menu. e. Click “Accounts,” click “Google,” and then click the entry with your email address (ex. [email protected]). f. After selecting your account, click the button with three white, vertical dots (in the upper right-hand corner). Clicking on this button will bring up a menu with three choices. g. Click on “remove account” and then confirm by clicking “remove account” in the next menu. This will delete your account information from the SILS android phone. h. Power off the phone by holding the smaller button on the right side of the phone and then clicking the “Power off” button that appears in the middle of the phone’s screen. .
