COO-EE MARCH 2020 www.edithburgh.org.au Farewell Blaze Aid On Sunday 23rd of February Corey and Jo de Roos with their wonderful staff at The Location put on a farewell lunch for the Blaze Aid Camp and all who wished to say thank you. They will be sorely missed, not just for the hard work erecting fences over the last three months, but for their friendships forged with farmers and everyone they met. Music was provided by the Cruizn Blues band...John Weekley, Rob Kidd and Clare Murillo. Karen Warren made a heartfelt speech, followed by Terry Smith, expressing the appreciation felt by the farmers, including a big thank you to Soxy, Peter Stockings. The weather was perfect, people lingered long after lunch, chatting under the colourful umbrellas. Come back and visit us Blazeaiders and thank you all! [email protected] Aiding the Blaze Aiders Many people and groups, from Edithburgh and across SYP have supported the Blaze Aid volunteers. Appetites are big at the end of each hard working day, so a home cooked meal has been much appreciated and one small way to thank these wonderful people who gathered from across Australia and beyond to clear then build new fencing. This is just one story. Sue Seiber and Bronte Mackereth have cooked several meals for them during the past three months, ending last week with a cook up of local fish...garfish, whiting and squid, chips, salads, freshly baked bread rolls, followed by individual trifles for dessert.
