In that role he was responsible for the records of three predecessor organizations: the Association of State Institutions of Higher Education, originally the Presidents' Association, 1956-1965; the Legislative Committee on Education beyond the High School, 1957-1965; and the Governor's State Commission on Higher Education Facilities, 1964-1965. Abbott (b. 1850) was a Lake City, Colorado, engineer and insurance agent. The collection contains a notary commission signed by Governor Frederick W.
