Acceptance and applause amassed by cinema since from the time of its inception shall be owed to this reel-real relation portrayed. And for the thrill of being represented somewhere in the reel length, we part our time for this creative expression which got crowned with the title “The Cinderella of All Art.” Afore said representation need not be always the representation of an individual. It can be the manifestation of certain circumstances, lived in experiences, cultural or ethnic background or even the food we eat. Closely mentioning food, it is not just always a curry. Outgrown from being treated as basic amenity, today the food decorates a prominent place in our literature and art. And, of course, in cinema too. The stories and emotions it conceals in its colour and flavour are abundant. Anything can be portrayed through food whether be motherly love or home coming feeling. In a broader aspect the on-screen food may have the potential to speak out the specificities of a locale. However, a falling water table meant that irrigation became a problem – especially during summer months even for drip irrigation. To overcome the problem of insufficient water, Srinivasan Services Trust (SST) encouraged Muniraj to save every drop of rainwater falling on his green house. SST provided technical information and engineering support for creating a pond, next to the greenhouse, large enough to collect six lakh litres of rainwater. To prevent loss by seepage, the pond was lined with a polythene sheet and a shade net was used as cover to help arrest loss by evaporation. The pond gets filled up with 3 days of rain. The water saved in this pond is sufficient for the crop needs for one season. -

International Film Festival of India 2018
International Film Festival of India 2018 The 49th International Film Festival of India was held from 20 to 28 November 2018 in Goa. There were total 212 films showcased in the International Film Festival of India 2018. The country in focus for International Film Festival of India 2018 is Israel. While Israel was the focus country, Jharkhand was the focus state this year. Another new section at IFFI this year was the screening of six Indian sports biopics as an extension of the Khelo India initiative. Two movies, Sholay and Hichki, were also screened at this year’s IFFI as part of a special package for visually impaired persons. The closing ceremony was held at the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium in Taleigaon, Goa.
