In Nepal, this requirement has been fulfilled byIntegrated Educational Management Information System (IEMIS) that has required information of schools and has been used at all levels. The IEMIS is also self-reported information of schools that provides details on students, teachers, physical infrastructures, examination results and other details. In this respect, concerns have been frequently raised to improve IEMIS so that it can be vastly utilized for different purpose and at different levels. The areas of possible concern in IEMIS and the ways of strengthening the IEMIS at school, district and central level is the major reason behind the need for this verification survey. Research Center for Educational Innovation and Development (CERID) has been provided opportunity for this study and therefore, would like to thank Ministry of Education and Department of Education for their trust and support. My sincere gratitude goes to Mr. Babu Ram Paudel, Director General, Mr. Mitra Nath Gartaula, Director, Mr. Ghanasyam Aryal, Deputy Director, Mr. Shankar Thapa, Deputy Director, and Mr. Bhagawan Upreti, Deputy Director for their continued encouragement on both technical and administrative inputs throughout the survey period.
