Gender Offenders’ Porn in the USA: Red, White & Boobs premieres in NYC! 5/8/2008 () --

Gender Offenders, the city’s queer/alternative performance troupe, comprised of queens Candy Samples, Chic and Sassy, pay their homage to this great land of ours in Porn in the USA: Red, White & Boobs, a potpourri of sketch comedy and song, all based on the traditions and cultural customs of this great land of ours! Directed by Brian Maschka, Porn in the USA: Red, White and Boobs, will play at The Duplex Cabaret Theatre: Friday, May 24th, at 10PM; Saturday, May 25th at 7PM; and June 7th, at 10PM.

Porn in the USA: Red, White & Boobs, takes a look at American society through the eyes of its citizens, media and cultures. From their kooky political satire to their flashy show stopping musical numbers, Gender Offenders will once again restore your faith in this country of ours! God Bless America!

Gender Offenders have been busy this year, working and performing with Marriage Equality New York, writing their new show and preparing to perform at this year’s Gay Pride Rally ’08 at Bryant Park on June 22nd, 2-6PM.

Gender Offenders was formed in 2006 by a group of radical, queer artists seeking to break traditional ideas of gender and sexuality as well as address ideological constraints imposed onto individuals by mainstream society, government and religious dogma. Gender Offenders is dedicated to pushing the envelope and advancing live performance by creating politically and socially relevant work. Infusing burlesque, music, mixed-media and traditional theatrical conventions, Gender Offenders desires to create visually stimulating works that ask questions and provide new ideas for all types of audiences. Their debut performance, Vitality, raised money and awareness for The Gay & Lesbian Anti-Violence Project, in September 2006. In December, GO presented Jingle Balls and Mistle-Ho’s: A Christmas Spectacular! to a sold out house at The Duplex Cabaret Theatre. February 2007’s Crimes of Passion: A Valentine’s Day Massacre, played to a standing-room-only crowd at Daryl Roth’s D-Lounge. In May 2007, The Duplex once again housed the sold out, Brides Gone Wild! Then, Gender Offenders 2nd Annual Christmas Show, Christmas in Iraq!, played to packed rooms at Pieces Cabaret Theater. In February, Gender Offenders performed along with comedienne, Julie Goldman, at Marriage Equality New York’s 10th Anniversary Gala. Gender Offenders are regular performers at The Snake Oil Show at The Laurie Beechman Theater.
