47Th Mid America Ford & Shelby Nationals Guide 47th Mid America Ford & Shelby Nationals Guide 1 47th Mid America Ford & Shelby Nationals Guide On behalf of all the sponsors, directors, and volunteer workers, Welcome to the 47th Mid America! We know this last year has not been the best for many reasons and we are glad that you are choosing to join us on your one or one of many outings this summer as we begin to try and get back to normal. We hope you find your stay in Tulsa safe, fun, fast, and exciting. Mid America will host several outstanding Mustangs and Fords. Numerous magazines will be in attendance to capture the event and who knows who all from the world of Ford will be in Tulsa! Wednesday our registration officially opens and with it a chance to pick up all your pre‐registrations and merchandise before they are all sold out. Come join us for this relaxed night and a chance to hang out with old friends or make some new ones before all the festivities begin. Thursday kicks off the first of the activities with a trip to Hallett Motor Racing Circuit. There you’ll enjoy road course action, Swap Meet and talk to many of our sponsors on all that they have to offer. Come join us and bring a helmet, as you never know when you might get a chance to get out on the track. You’ll also get a chance to see some of the best cars from New to Vintage running around the track in stock vehicles and some heavily modified. This diversity will give you a chance to see what you might want to do to your car(s). Tulsa Cruising to the Blue Dome District – Participating in this great cruise from the Marriott to Downtown Tulsa is always a hit. Join us at the hotel for this great procession of all makes and models of Fords and Shelbys. At the Blue Dome district, you will be directed by our parking staff to a spot just for you. Once there, enjoy some AC, good foods, beverages and a great night of conversation with other likeminded enthusiasts. Please wear your badge at ALL times; it is key to remember this for the entire event. You never know when you may need it! Friday starts off with another day at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit. That evening is kicked off with food trucks in the parking lot along with our second year of Friday Night under the starts. Let’s keep our event focused on FORDS, FAMILIES, and FUN, with fun for the entire family. We will have food trucks; if inclement weather arises, we’ll move indoors. Our Friday night under the stars will be an exciting one with speakers from Ford Motor Company, Shelby American Inc, Gateway Classic Mustang and followed by a showing of the documentary: The 24 Hour War. Saturday Morning starts us off with a new adventure on the Mid America Route 66 Poker Run powered by Team Shelby. You can explore the sites of Route 66 with friends and family and a chance to win the top hands. Later that afternoon, we will continue the fun by beating the heat with Drag Racing into evening! Gates open at 2PM. This Guide will provide you all the critical information you need to be involved in all the events. If you have any questions, please flag down one of the event staff wearing an event staff shirt and they will provide an answer or direct you to the person that can. For an up‐to‐date listing of fuel stations carrying pure 91 octane (no 93 in OK) fuel in Tulsa, take a look at https://www.pure‐gas.org/index.jsp?stateprov=OK. As our Mid America family, we want each one of our participants, sponsors and volunteers to be healthy and safe during the event. We will still have sanitizer and masks throughout the event, should you feel you need one or the other. If you do not see these, please see our registration tent. We want to continue reminding you to share this passion with your sons and daughters to continue the tradition of so many car lovers before us. Enjoy your time at Mid America and share your fun with your friends and families online. 2020 SHELBY GT500 DRAGON SNAKE CONCEPT www.SHELBY.com 702.942.7325 Unveiled in the Ford Motor Company’s display at the 2019 SEMA show in Las Vegas, the Shelby GT500 Dragon Snake is a modern take on a proven Shelby philosophy. During the 1960s, Shelby American offered a drag racing version of the Shelby Cobra called the “Dragonsnake.” Given the new Ford Shelby GT500’s dual clutch transmission and stout 5.2L engine, Shelby American reimagined Ford’s new Mustang supercar for that same mission. The Shelby team’s design for the Dragon Snake adds more power to the car (800 HP+), revises the suspension for maximum grip and straight line acceleration, lightens the car with specialty equipment and exotic materials, retunes the DCT and modifies the bodywork including unique wheels. A widebody option is also being considered. In addition to the engine tune, Shelby American added high-flow catalytic converters, new lightweight glasswork and other innovations. 2020 Shelby GT500 Dragon Snake Concept Standard Features Performance Exteriors Interiors - Shelby suspension system - Carbon fiber hood - Custom Shelby leather interior - MagneRide enabled - Drag style carbon fiber spoiler - Serialized CSM numbered engine plate - Front and rear springs - One-piece forged aluminum wheels - Serialized CSM numbered dash plaque -Front and rear sway bars - Hardened and extended wheel studs - Shelby Supercharger upgrade - Performance tires - Windshield and glass package - Wide body option - Performance Half-shafts - Shelby hood pins - Full exhaust system - Striping and badging - Catalytic converters - Mufflers + exhaust tips (Cat back system) - Emissions complaint 50 state legal FOB Las Vegas. Ludvigsen’s research files are divided into two series: Subjects and Marques, each focusing on technical aspects, and were clipped or copied from newspapers, trade publications, and manufacturer’s literature, but there are occasional blueprints and photographs. Some of the files include Ludvigsen’s consulting research and the records of his Ludvigsen Library. Scope and Content Note: The Karl E. Ludvigsen papers are organized into eight series. The series largely reflects Ludvigsen’s original filing structure for paper and photographic materials. Series 1. Supplement to Sports Car Market SportsKeith Martin’s Car Market™ The Insider’s Guide to Collecting, Investing, Values, and Trends 2018 INSIDER’S GUIDE TO A VUTOMOTI E MUSEUMS PREMIERE ISSUE ■ Donald Osborne on What Makes a Great Museum ■ In-Depth Profiles of 31 Featured Museums ■ Directory of More Than 80 Museums INTRODUCTION / TABLE OF CONTENTS where the Past Comes to Life his Insider’s Guide to Automotive Museums is a dream come true for me. T I have long wanted a listing of the most significant museums in the U.S. in one easy-to- access digest. This guide fulfills that need. I’m keeping a copy in my glovebox. I love automotive museums of all types, from the rigorous, intellectually challenging Petersen and Revs collections to “I bought it because I liked it” private collections. The history of the automobile spans little more than 130 years, starting with the Benz Patent-Motorwagen in 1886. Thus in a single museum you can often follow the evolution of the motor car from the horseless carriage to the Bugatti Chiron. As you stroll through the museums listed here, reflect on what the cars on display tell you about the tastes of the owners who collected them.
