The 1st , presented by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, India to felicitate the best of Indian Cinema censored in the year 1953. Ceremony took place at Vigyan Bhavan, New on 10 October 1954 and awards were given by then President of India, Dr Rajendra Prasad. • The 67th National Film Awards got announced in New Delhi on Monday. In the award ceremony, films and artistes for the year 2019 were honoured. The award ceremony was initially going to be held in May last year, however, it got delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. • The Directorate of Film Festivals, an organisation that comes under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, gave the awards to deserving candidates. • The awards are presented by the President of India traditionally. However, for the 66th National Film Awards, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu did the honours, while President Nath Kovind hosted the high tea for the winners.
