Media Release Salary Disclosure March 2018.Pdf Media Release March 23, 2018 For Immediate Release Windsor Regional Hospital Salary Disclosure In accordance with the Ontario Public Salary Disclosure Act, 1996, Windsor Regional Hospital (WRH) has released its list of all employees who earned in excess of $100,000 in salary and their taxable benefits for the 2017 calendar year. Salaries for both non-union and those represented by a union have been based on surveys of comparable hospitals in order to determine an appropriate and fair compensation based on their responsibilities at WRH. “As Board Directors, we take the responsibility for setting employee compensation seriously. Competitive salaries allow us to attract and keep the best organizational leaders and employees,” stated Lynne Watts, Chair of the WRH Board of Directors. A major restructuring and realignment of the governance and operations of hospital healthcare services in Windsor and Essex County occurred in 2013. This resulted in WRH assuming responsibility for all acute care programs and services and Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare assuming responsibility for all sub-acute care services. WRH now has an operating budget of over $500 million per year, approximately 3,800 employees, more than 450 medical, dental and midwifery staff and approximately 550 acute care beds. Out of approximately 150 hospitals in Ontario, WRH is one of the largest community hospitals in the Province of Ontario, serving as the regional provider of advanced care in areas that include complex trauma, renal dialysis, cardiac care, stroke and neurosurgery, intensive care, acute mental health, family birthing centre, neonatal intensive care, paediatric services, regional cancer services, and a broad range of medical and surgical services required to support these specialized areas for more than 400,000 people in Windsor and Essex County.. “The Board of Directors of Windsor Regional Hospital recognizes that compensation has to be fair and reasonable for all staff at the hospital as well as comparable to that of other healthcare institutions across Ontario. We are driven by our vision: Outstanding Care - No Exceptions! We can only make this happen by retaining and recruiting the best people,” said Watts. In 2017, 315 Windsor Regional Hospital employees earned $100,000 or more in salary and taxable benefits. These cells have been used previously to mimic some of the properties of in vivo brain ischemia-reperfusion-injury (IRI) and have been instrumental in identifying common mechanisms such as calcium overload, redox potential, lipid peroxidation and MAPKs modulation. In addition, they were useful for establishing the role of certain membrane penetrable cocktails of antioxidants as well as potential growth factors which may act in neuroprotection. Pharmacological mechanisms of neuroprotection addressing modulation of the MAPK cascade and increased redox potential by natural products, drugs and growth factors secreted by stem cells, in either undifferentiated or nerve growth factor-differentiated PC12 cells exposed to ischemic conditions are discussed for future prospects in neuroprotection studies.
