Additionally, we have many more items – mostly in the $5 -$100 range – that are not in this catalog. If you are looking for something specific, please contact us. Also, we are using this catalog to clear some of our older stock to make room for new arrivals. Retail prices on many items have been reduced by as much as 50%. Letter sent by a Maryland patriot to the future Deputy Quartermaster of the Continental Army—via the renegade “Constitutional Post” to avoid detection by Parliamentary Post agents—requesting that he smuggle gunpowder to the Eastern Shore under the noses of the officers of the Crown Sent by Jonathan Worth of Georgetown, Maryland to John Mitchell of Philadelphia November 6, 1775. This two-page stampless folded letter measures 13” x 8” unfolded. It is datelined “Kent County, November 6th 1775”. $6,500 #9578 Click on the image or links for more information and larger images. Turned stampless letter regarding farmland in Kentucky and the possibility of purchasing a “Negro boy” written at Octorora, Pennsylvania and posted at Rising Sun, Maryland, for delivery to Easton, Maryland via a stop in Philadelphia. Jno Hall to John (Jack) Ewing via Samuel Ewing. Octorora to Rising Sun to Philadelphia to Easton: November 1809. This stampless letter measures approximately 8” x 13” unfolded. It was datelined “Octorora Nov. 14th 1809” and addressed to Samuel Ewing in Philadelphia. It bears a manuscript “Rising Sun Nov 14. 1809” postmark and “10” rate mark. In compliance with Hall’s request within the letter, Samuel Ewing readdressed the missive to John (Jack) Ewing in Easton, Maryland. When reposted, it received a second manuscript “10” rate mark and a small circle Philadelphia postmark, “PHI / 16 / NO”. $300 #9630 Click on the image or links for more information and larger images. Plea from a hero of the Northwest Indian Wars to receive his Army pension. Folded-letter from Captain Cornelius R. Sedam to the former Secretary of War, James McHenry Captain Cornelius R. Sedam Cincinnati: 1810. This stampless one-page folded letter measures 15.5” x 12.5” unfolded. It was sent from Sedam’s farm near Bold Face Creek about three miles west of Cincinnati and is dated November 11, 1810. $750 $375 #8893 Click on the image or links for more information and larger images. Letter from a U. S. mariner held captive in Naples after his ship was captured and condemned during the Napoleonic Wars Sent by Olphert Tittle Naples: 1810. This two-page stampless folded letter measures approximately 14.5" x 10" unfolded. It was sent by Olphert Tittle in Naples to Olphert Tittle (his father) in Beverly, Massachusetts.
