We had hoped to get this out in early February. Now it isn’t going to be out until the middle of March. We have lots of excuses. Too busy buying and selling coins, paper money, medals and tokens. Too busy visiting with grandchildren and having them come visit us. We also bought a new computer and upgraded our software and operation system. For those of you who care we bought a new Mac and have now upgraded to OS 10.4 or Tiger. That was suppose to make our lives eas- ier. Not yet. We’ve been swearing at it and each other. All these are just excuses and we still could be working on it but we must get working on our auction catalog. So the list is smaller than we would have liked and we only did a quick proof read. We apologize for the lateness of the list as well as any errors you may find. Please note the many group specials throughout the list! PHOTOS: As you can see, there are no photos on the printed copy of this list. It is no longer feasible either in an economic or time sense for us to have photos on our printed copies of our list. However numerous items including most commemorative coins are photographed on our website Eventually all commemorative coins, banknotes and state medals will be photographed for our website. In addition items marked with an asterisk (*) are pictured on our website (or at least should be). And we can provide email images (or digital photos on our website) for most items of $25 or more at no charge. Unfortunately because of the cost involved it is now very difficult to send actu- al photos through the mail. We apologize for this in advance. Please note that even if you don’t have access to the world wide web at home most public libraries provide this service at no charge. ORDERING: Ordering information is on the back of the order blank. If you need any more information, please do not hesitate to ask. Our advertised phone hours are 9 AM to 6 PM during the week, although we are usually here earlier and later and sometimes on the weekends as well. You may call (our machine is always on), Fax or E-Mail us 24 hours a day and we go to our Post Office virtually every day. Most orders are shipped out within 24 hours of receipt of payment. Orders with payment receive preference. If calling and we do not answer, please leave a message. When we are busy writing a catalog (especially mid March to late April and September) we tend to let our machine screen the phone, so please leave a message and we may even pick up. We will return your call if necessary. Please speak slowly and distinctly when leaving a message. BUYING: We are always looking to buy all worthwhile numismatic items, not only Palestine, Israel and Judaica. If you are thinking of disposing of all or parts of your collection, please contact us. We also need material for our auction sales. MAILBID (AUCTION) SALES; We hold two auction sales each year, one in May and one in November consisting of ancient to modern world wide material, with heavy emphasis on Israel/Palestine/Judaica. Our spring 2006 sale is going to be another great sale with many rare and seldom offered items from consignors around the globe. In addition some of the items that were to be listed here will be offered in our auction instead. A few highlights are Part Two of the George Fisher collections, high grade ancient coins from an Israeli collec- tion, 2 nice collections of Israel and Palestine banknotes, 4 different Dachau notes, more rare items from the ICI mint archives, rare com- missioned medals and much more. SUBSCRIPTIONS: If you have not ordered from us in the past year, your subscription has expired and a subscription blank is included with this list. If you order from us, you will of course receive future lists. We would much rather sell coins, medals, etc. than subscrip- tions. However to insure receiving future lists, please send us $15 ($25 overseas) to help us keep up with the cost of mailing. Also all our lists our now available on-line at www.rosenblumcoins.com at no charge to you. ABOUT THIS LIST: This list is a general stock list and the prices listed replace any and all lists that you may have in your possession. It will be active until our next Israel list in the late winter of 2007. Because gold has been very volatile we have not listed any Israel gold coins on this list. If you are interested in any, please contact us and we’ll give you a competitive quote. It is not feasible to list gold coins on a stock list that will be active for a year. We have a collection of mostly Israel state medals that is suppose to arrive any day now. We can’t wait any longer thus if you are looking for a medal that we are not listing we may have it very shortly. Send us your want list. WEBSITE: Our website is a place to see new purchases and internet specials. If we have your email address, and have it in our email address book (not always one and the same) we have notified you in the past and will continue to notify you in the future of all new cat- alogs. One of the (many) problems we encountered when “upgrading?” our computer system is that we lost out email address book. Or at least lost our ability to access it. Please email us with your email address so that we may contact you about any special offers. WANT LISTS: We work hard to service serious want lists. If there are any numismatic items you are looking for please let us know and we will try to find it for you. Please include as much information about the items as you can including condition desired and your budg- et. In addition if there are items that we list that are too expensive for your taste please let us know what you will pay. Perhaps we can find sometime in that price range for you. There is never an obligation to you when you submit your want list. ISBN 978-966-921-163-7 The monograph substantiates the existence and determines the origin of the constituent element of the resistance to the movement within rail carriages; the constituent is determined by the control of the wheel pairs within the railway track. In this book, we suggest the method to analyze closed power circuit in mechanical power transmission applied to rolling stock. The method of mathematical modeling for two- point contact of the wheel with the rail has also been developed. The characteristics of the kinematic resistance to the movement for a number of types of rolling stock have been obtained. There are power factors which control the rail carriages and their analysis is very important, therefore we address to it in the book as well.

In the article an attempt to investigate in a chronological order the historical circumstances of the formation and development of the mainline electric locomotives engineering at the Luhansk diesel locomotives engeneering plant (1957– 2014) has been made. The circumstances of the activity of the electric locomotives workshop of the Luhansk plant (1957–1967), within which the production of crew parts and units of the legendary locomotives VL8 and VL10 for Novocherkask and Tbilisi factories have been analyzed. In the late 1980s, due to the absence of a solid convertible currency for the import of traction rolling stock from Czechoslovakia in the wake of the economic crisis of the USSR, the Luhansk plant received orders for the development and production of self-propelled electric locomotives. However, with the proclamation of the Independence of Ukraine, due to the lobbying of the new government, promising projects of Luhansk electric locomotives were rejected, and the Dnipro electric locomotives engineering plant was defined the basic enterprise for the creation of mainline electric locomotives for the Ukrainian railways.
