Saint Joseph procession

Submitted photos

An image of St. Joseph, Patron of the Church, was recently processed from St. Joseph’s Church in Mandan to the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit in Bismarck, where the image was permanently installed. The 6-mile procession began at St. Joseph’s Church on the evening of April 30. Upon arrival at the Cathedral, the Litany of St. Joseph was recited, followed by Night Prayer. On May 1 (Feast of St. Joseph the Worker), the day began at the Cathedral with a rosary, Mass, a presentation on St. Joseph by local Catholic speaker Tom Perna and installation of the image in the Marian Chapel. The event was an initiative of the Bismarck-Mandan Troops of Saint George and the Knights of Columbus in honor of the Year of St. Joseph.
