Team Building in the Berber Villages

A day’s adventure in 4x4 consists of Driving off-road to or the Berber villages of Chenini, Ghomrassen and the “ksours”. Horse-drawn carriages, donkeys and camels will be your docile mounts as part of a mini Olympics, while the more adventurous can try donkey back polo or drive a quad around the surrounding hills and fields for a day packed with excitement. *Departure in 4x4 (5 people per vehicle) along the Roman causeway to Medenine to visit its famous granaries called “”. Continue to Ksar Ouled Soltane where refreshment will be served in one of the “Ksours”, ancient fortified granaries. *Lunch at the tranquil oasis of Ogla or around the pool at the magnificent Sangho Tataouine hotel. *Continue to Chenini and its unique houses carved out of the sheer rock and forming a circle around the mountain. Visit, free time and continuation to Ksar Ghilane, a tiny, extremely exotic oasis famous for its superb dunes and hot springs. *Arrival at the 4* Pansea Camp. Time for relaxing. *After the excitement of the day you will be able to enjoy a superb sunset over a cocktail. At sunset, clients follow a lighted path taking them around the dune where they will discover a Berber camp, specially erected for the group, including a fortune teller, women tattooing participants’ hands and feet, women preparing the traditional “tabouna” bread and the traditional nargila water pipe. *Berber tents set up in a circle around a fire of giant palm leaves, dinner will consist of Tunisian specialities and in particular clay pot baked lamb (“Agneau à la Gargoulette"). *Dinner accompanied by traditional folklore. *Overnight at the Pansea. Day 3: Tamezret / Matmata / Djerba Buffet breakfast at the camp. Camelback ride or quad drive over the reddish-colored dunes of Ksar Ghilane in the direction of Fort Fantôme. Continuation to Matmata, the star of southern Tunisia. Built on the site of a mountain, this fabulous Berber village boasts a unique lunar landscape pitted with giant holes that the film director Steven Spielberg used in his famous films "Star Wars" and “Raiders of the Lost Ark”. Visit to the famous troglodyte homes, a kind of granary carved into the rock, announced by immense craters! Lunch in an ancient troglodyte home specially privatized for the occasion! Return to Djerba by ferry via Gabes. Dinner at the Djerba Explore museum with a Malouf trio playing Arab-Andalusian music. Option: Dinner at the ‘’Dar Dhiafa’’ restaurant. Day 4: Boat trip and tour of the island Buffet breakfast Departure to the port of Houmt Souk, the commercial centre of the island. Board a “pirate boat” for a spectacular crossing to Pink Flamingo Island. Totally uninhabited, you can take a lovely romantic stroll or a refreshing dip in the sea. Barbecue lunch with grilled fish! Return to port: tour of the island in 4x4. Departure to visit the village of Guellala, the centre of Djerbian traditional pottery. You will be invited to try and produce your own piece of pottery or company logo in ceramic… Continuation through the ancient olive groves to the Scorpion or Genoese fort for a cocktail. Option: a Quad rally can be organized on request. Free time in Houmt Souk, the economic capital of the island, and return to the hotel. Gala dinner with folklore show, either in the Casino or Le Haroun fish restaurant. Day 5: Departure  Buffet breakfast. Transfer by bus to Djerba airport. Assistance with check-in formalities. Treasure Hunt Djerba is the island of Lotophages supposedly discovered by Ulysse. It is a very unique island in Tunisia that has its own very distinctive identity. A quarter of its inhabitants speak Berber dialects and it is home to a small Jewish community. The capital Houmt Souk has a lively market, a thirteenth century fort, a Baroque Catholic Church and unusual Islamic architecture in the Mosque of the Turks and the Mosque of the Strangers. In the middle of this flat island is the Ghriba Synagogue which has one of the oldest Torahs in the world, and is still visited by Jewish pilgrims from all over the world. Houmt Souk The island’s administrative capital is a small town that has preserved its olde-worlde charm. The Souks In the heart of the medina, the souks are a network of small shop-lined narrow alleys. The souks are always lively. Here you can find cloth, carpets, utensils and jewelry. The jewellers’ souk reflects the island’s prosperity. Dinner at restaurant El Houch Upon arrival clients will be welcomed by a traditional folkloric troupe dressed in typical tunica playing mythical songs “Hadhra” An exotic or traditional Tunisian dish: « Agneau à la gargoulette » lamb cooked in a terracotta water jug with vegetables that is shattered ceremoniously in front of you… ! Dinner at Djerba explore tents will be installed, the torches and corridors of carpet will guide our guests towards their tents where the tables will be installed. An immersion in the middle of the rites and habits of the Bedouins of the Sahara Dinner at the Museum The Museum of Popular Art & Traditions The museum enables visitors to discover the wealth of the island’s folklore. The collection is well-presented, with detailed explanations. Here you will find a rich treasure of costumes from various social and ethnic groups, jewels made by Jewish craftsmen, volumes of the Koran, plus trunks, kitchen utensils, a reconstructed pottery workshop with examples of pottery, large amphorae, ornamental plaster-work and ancient ceramic tiles. From Houmt Souk, you can travel by boat to the very end of the Ras er Rmel sandy peninsula. Here the beach is beautiful, the water is pure and the landscape is untouched.
