Day One: This morning we transfer to Hanoi’s Boi Bai Air- port for the flight to Dien Bien Phu landing at the same air- field the French usedDien during the Bien siege. Upon Phu arrival, Postwe will -Tour only $595 drive to the Muong Thanh for check in. After lunch, we begin our exploration of the battlefield with a visit to the Dien Bien Phu Military Museum to familiarize ourselves with the siege by studying the course of the battle using maps and sand tables. We continue on to see Hill A-1, In- dependence Hill, and BGen De Castrie’s bunker. Hotel: Muong Thanh (B/L/D)

Day Two: We start our day with a visit to Noong Nhai village. We continue on to see a tribal vil- lage in Him Lam and see some of the northern Vietnamese culture. After lunch, we stop at Pa Khoang Lake and walk some of the battlefield in- cluding the crater from the massive sapper charge used against the French strongpoint Elaine 2. The day culminates with a stop at General Giap’s Com- mand Post. Hotel: Muong Thanh (B/L/D)

Day Three: Our final morning starts with a visit to the Dien Bien Phu Ceme- tery and the impressive Monument to the Vietnamese victory. We conclude our trip by transfer to the airport for our flight to Hanoi. Upon arrival we transfer to our hotel with some free time after lunch in Hanoi. Day 3 - “Great Wall of China”, Cloisonné factory tour, friendship store, jade factory, and special acrobatic show this evening (optional).

Cambodia Angkor Vietnam Post Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi to Saigon. Flight to Saigon, transfer to hotel for overnight.

Day 2: Siem Reap – Arrival. Pick up from hotel in Saigon and transfer to airport for flight. Upon arrival in Siem Reap, meet and transfer to hotel for check in. Lunch at local . In the afternoon, visit the antique capital of Angkor Thom (12 century), the South Gate with its huge statues depicting the churning of the ocean of the Bayon Temple, unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesva- ra, the Phimeanakas, the Royal Enclosure, the Elephants Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. We then continue to view wonderful sunset from Phnom Bakheng Hills. We have dinner at local restaurant before returning to our hotel. (L/D)

Day 3: Siem Reap Tour. Morning visit to the most famous of all the tem- ples on the plain of Angkor: Angkor Wat, this huge temple complex which is considered by art historians to be the prime example of classical Khmer art and architecture. Then we continue to visit some of the Khmer Rouge Genocide sites: minefield, the Killing Fields, and Arms Museum. Lunch at local restaurant. In the afternoon, we visit the unique interior brick sculp- tures of Prasat Kravan, Srah Srang ("The Royal Baths" was once used for ritual bathing), Banteay Kdei (surrounded by 4 concentric walls), Ta Keo, constructed in late 10th early & 11th century and we finish at the myste- rious jungle temples of Ta Prohm, one of the area’s most beautiful. Din- ner at a local restaurant before returning to our hotel. (B/L/D)

Day 4: Siem Reap – Departure. Today we board on boat in Tonle Sap Lake, the "Great Lake" of Cambodia, one of the largest in Asia. We enjoy a brief cruise past floating villages complete with schools, , mar- kets and hospitals. Lunch at local restaurant. Then transfer to Siem Reap Airport for flight to take connecting flight to US from Saigon. (B/L)
