The twelve track album stays true to everything The Weeknd gained his following on continuing his mysterious styled sound mixed with dreamy clean production. A few tracks off the album seem more upbeat for The Weeknd then we are used to hearing with shades of a young Michael Jackson, but are all still catchy and get caught in your head before you know it. The Weeknd has come a long way from the release of his first mixtape “ House of Balloons ” and is quickly turning into one of the new songbirds of our generation. Do yourself a favor and pickup a copy of his new album “ Kissland ” on iTunes today. Check out few tracks off of the album below. The Weeknd ​– Kiss Land. So, at first I thought I got ripped off with a bootleg copy or something - I wasn’t aware that the Japanese kanji and cute cat thing was all a part of this album art on the inside. Once I realized it was legit, I was actually happy with all the crazy design. The vinyl itself has some pops. Cleaned thoroughly before play. Ran a static CF brush over it. Otherwise, sound SUPER loud! Compared to other vinyl at the normal level I play at (40) I had to drop it down to (30). Not a bad thing. but to be noted. Hoping a second cleaning will get a better playback. I’d say it’s definitely worth it for a fan of The Weeknd for their collection. The Weeknd KissLand. Kiss Land is the upcoming debut studio album by Canadian recording artist The Weeknd. The album is scheduled to be released on September 10, 2013 by XO and Republic Records. Kiss Land was supported by three singles "Kiss Land", "Belong to the World" and "Live For". The album's sole guest appearance comes from frequent collaborator Drake. Track list: 1. "Professional" 2. Bunting-Hudson All Rights Reserved ABSTRACT The Art of the Hustle: A Study of the Rap Music Industry in Bogota, Colombia Laura L. Bunting-Hudson How do rap artists in Bogota, Colombia come together to make music? What is the process they take to commodify their culture? Why are some rappers able to become socially mobile in this process, while others are less so? What is technology’s role in all of this? This ethnography explores those questions, as it carefully documents the strategies utilized by various rap groups in Bogota, Colombia to create social mobility, commoditize products and to create a different vision of modernity within the hip-hop community, as an alternative to the ideals set forth by mainstream Colombian society. Resistance Art Poetry (RAP), is said to have originated in the United States but has become a form of international music. In conducting ethnographic research from December of 2012 to October 2014, I was able to discover how rappers organize themselves politically, how they commoditize their products and distribute them to create various types of social mobilities. In this dissertation, I constructed models to typologize rap groups in Bogota, Colombia, which I call polities of rappers to discuss how these groups come together, take shape, make plans and execute them to reach their business goals.

After his first songs appeared on the Internet in late 2010, The Weeknd's Abel Tesfaye slowly crept under the sheets between Drake's brokenhearted bravado and the confessional cynicism of Frank Ocean with a series of free mixtapes of increasingly dark, brooding pop. He was the hermit gone wild, a lonely boy from Toronto with Michael Jackson's fragile tenor and a hard drive full of Portishead B-sides who suddenly had his pick of worldly women, but quickly became disillusioned by the paradox of choice. Tesfaye's new album, Kiss Land , is a glass-clad monolith to his jaded misogynist fantasies and melodramatic jet-setting, fascinating for both its futurist sonic template and its emotionally stunted hypersexuality. From the album's first line ("It's ideal, you need someone to tell you how to feel") to its last ("She forgot the good things about me / She let it slip away"), an overwhelming sense of hopelessness and dissociation sets in. Tesfaye's delicate voice, often breaking into a desperate whimper, constantly echoes off towering synthetic minor chords and spare, hydraulic drum patterns. He is truly lost in the machine. More than any of his contemporaries, Tesfaye personifies the anxiety, narcissism and ironic disconnect of the digital generation. His version of modern love is no fun; it's one built around blame, numbing overindulgence and cold sexual transaction.

What does it mean? It means that there was always a plan in place. BUT some look at that word and say “See God already decided who would be a Christian & who wouldn’t. Nothing I do re- ally can change that.” That’s NOT what that means. What it means is that God has a plan for you to accept him & be saved but he can’t force you to do so. In May of 2019, Amanda Eller went for a run in Hawaii where she lived. The plan was to just go on a 3 mile run but there were some trees on the running path. So she decided to go for a hike instead. After some time in the woods, she headed back to her car but didn’t have a true idea of which way to go. Soon, she got lost. With no phone, no water bottle, and no supplies; she was in some trouble.

Is not this the carpenter's son? Is not his mother called Mary? And are not his brothers James and Joseph and Simon and Judas? And are not all his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all this?" And they took offence at him. But Jesus said to them, "Prophets are not without honour except in their own country and in their own house." And he did not do many deeds of power there, because of their unbelief. In this reading, Matthew’s gospel calls Jesus “the carpenter’s son” (verse 55), but Mark’s gospel simply calls him “the carpenter” (6:3). Mark never polishes the surface of the Gospel story, as the others do. Jesus was a carpenter, of course, as well as being the son of a carpenter. Otherwise, what was he doing for thirty years? We need to celebrate Jesus the worker as well as Joseph the worker. In the past, manual work was referred to as “servile work”. It was forbidden on Sundays. If you were an accountant you could spend all your Sundays accounting, but if you were a farmer, for example, or a carpenter, you had to remain idle. ‘Servile’ comes from the Latin ‘servilis’, meaning ‘of a slave’. ‘Servile work’ means ‘the work of slaves’.
