72 SEPTEMBER 2016 Geschäftsmodell Wer Erfolg haben will, braucht Verbündete. • The Weeknd Kiss Land Full Album Download Google Drive First Listen: the Weeknd, 'Kiss Land' the Weeknd's New Album Kiss Land Will Be Released on Sept
the weeknd kiss land full album download google drive First Listen: The Weeknd, 'Kiss Land' The Weeknd's new album Kiss Land will be released on Sept. 10. La Mar C. Taylor/Courtesy of the artist. After his first songs appeared on the Internet in late 2010, The Weeknd's Abel Tesfaye slowly crept under the sheets between Drake's brokenhearted bravado and the confessional cynicism of Frank Ocean with a series of free mixtapes of increasingly dark, brooding pop. He was the hermit gone wild, a lonely boy from Toronto with Michael Jackson's fragile tenor and a hard drive full of Portishead B-sides who suddenly had his pick of worldly women, but quickly became disillusioned by the paradox of choice. Tesfaye's new album, Kiss Land , is a glass-clad monolith to his jaded misogynist fantasies and melodramatic jet-setting, fascinating for both its futurist sonic template and its emotionally stunted hypersexuality. From the album's first line ("It's ideal, you need someone to tell you how to feel") to its last ("She forgot the good things about me / She let it slip away"), an overwhelming sense of hopelessness and dissociation sets in. Tesfaye's delicate voice, often breaking into a desperate whimper, constantly echoes off towering synthetic minor chords and spare, hydraulic drum patterns. He is truly lost in the machine. More than any of his contemporaries, Tesfaye personifies the anxiety, narcissism and ironic disconnect of the digital generation. His version of modern love is no fun; it's one built around blame, numbing overindulgence and cold sexual transaction.

The twelve track album stays true to everything The Weeknd gained his following on continuing his mysterious styled sound mixed with dreamy clean production. A few tracks off the album seem more upbeat for The Weeknd then we are used to hearing with shades of a young Michael Jackson, but are all still catchy and get caught in your head before you know it. The Weeknd has come a long way from the release of his first mixtape “ House of Balloons ” and is quickly turning into one of the new songbirds of our generation. Do yourself a favor and pickup a copy of his new album “ Kissland ” on iTunes today. Check out few tracks off of the album below. The Weeknd – Kiss Land. Increasingly the lines between what is a “mix” and what is ew things in the modern music business are as confusingly named as the mixtape: an album are blurring – but this allows artists the freedom to experiment and collaborate more F they’re not tapes, for a start, and most of without a mixtape being dissected like an album proper. We look at the ways they can work them aren’t actually mixed. In fact, defining what mixtapes are in 2017 is probably harder best, how they should connect with fans, just how liberating they can be (for artist and to pinpoint than what they aren’t. marketing team) and why they don’t always have to be given away for free. But let’s try: mixtapes are a group of songs, typically from a rapper or R&B act, that are intended as a coherent piece of work but which exist without the weight of expectation of “an album”, allowing the artist to experiment, bring in outside collaborators and – if the mixtape is free – sample with less of an eye towards lawyers’ fees. Mixtapes are often stopgaps, filling the space between album releases, or used to introduce an artist to the world, and they are predominantly digital releases.

He avoided revealing his face until over a year after he released his very first song online. The story itself is now legendary. In 2011, he released an untouchable series of three critically revered free mixtapes — House of Balloons, Thursday and Echoes of Silence — and the internet exploded with praise and a whole lot of theories about him as he personally remained silent. Soon though, his reach and appeal exponentially expanded. He teamed up with Ariana Grande for the platinum-selling hit “Love Me Harder.” He then had the mainstream completely in his grip with the release of “Earned It (Fifty Shades of Grey)” in early 2015.

  • A Reflection on Craft And
ASIATIC, VOLUME 7, NUMBER 1, JUNE 2013 When Abused Women Get Away with Murder: Law, Justice and Truth in three English-language Malaysian Novels by Women Chuah Guat Eng1 Malaysia Abstract Although the socially oppressed woman is almost a standard feature in Malaysian English-language fictional narratives, abused-women-turned-murderers are found only in novels by women. Between 1994 and 2000, three women published novels featuring women who kill and confess their crimes but, notably, are not brought to justice. To date, these are the only Malaysian examples of this sub-genre of the crime novel. This paper examines the moral universes depicted in the three novels, and identifies culturally and institutionally determined concepts and perceptions of law, justice and truth that might explain why the women who kill are allowed to go unpunished. Keywords Malaysian novels in English, women writers, crime fiction, homicidal women, law and justice, moral universes The figure of the girl or woman subjected to gender-based social pressure and discrimination appears frequently in Malaysian literature in English. In the novels published between 1963 (when Malaysia was formed) and 1993 – all by men – most socially oppressed women are portrayed as being from the lower social strata, poorly educated, and victims of their own internalisation of the roles and positions imposed on them by their patriarchal traditions. Physical forms of domestic violence are almost absent: there is parental oppression but no brutality, suggestions of spousal battering are muted and there is complete silence on the subject of incestuous sexual assaults. It is only after Malaysian women novelists made their debut, that we find portrayals of women from higher social strata subjected to parental brutality, wife-battering and incestuous rape – and who commit murder to change the trajectory of their fate.

  • The Silence of Salience Jeff Waistell
1 The Salience of Silence: The Silence of Salience Jeff Waistell* Department of Business and Management, Oxford Brookes Business School, Headington Campus, Oxford Brookes University, Oxford, OX3 0BP, England. *Email: [email protected] +44 (0) 1865 485799 2 Abstract This is a unique study of an almost silent and still film of the organisation of silence. The film ‘Into Great Silence’ (IGS) shows how Carthusian monks organise silence, punctuating and structuring it with recurring rituals and routines. Carthusian silence is discourse: it is their way of communicating, interacting and sustaining their organisation. The salience of Carthusian silence is that it is where they can discern divine presence. By studying IGS, the researcher overcame the challenges of access to the monastery, of studying silence, and of appraising the implicit salience of Carthusian silence. The film invites viewers to silent introspection through sound art, visual poetry, and a silent metaphorical discourse that relies on symbols. IGS utilises reverse visual metaphor, with metaphorical images that move the audience from images to abstract territories. The researcher also reflects on his own personal experience during his stays at a Carthusian Charterhouse, when he was a novitiate candidate in the sole English Carthusian Monastery (St. Hugh's Charterhouse, Parkminster,1 near Horsham in West Sussex, England). Although he did not pursue this vocation, his two periods in the monastery left him with an indelible impression of a religious order that has not changed for nearly a millennium, and which imparted a deep awareness and appreciation of silence, solitude and stillness. The paper draws out lessons for research and organisations.
