This is your school and we encourage and invite you to come to school any time. You are your child’s first and most important teacher and we need your help. The education of children is exciting and challenging. Each child is unique. Eagle Rock Elementary School is committed to creating a safe and positive learning environment where every student has the opportunity to be successful. Teachers and support staff have been busy this summer preparing for the 2019-2020 school year. We have adopted a new social science program and we will also be continuing our work with our English language arts, mathematics, and science curriculum. Staff and students use technology at our school. As well, we are a “Positive Behavior Support” School--students are expected to be safe, respectful and responsible at all times. Please take the time to carefully read through the information listed in this handbook with your child(ren), discuss its importance, and how the information pertains to your scholar’s success. We are proud of the excellent educational program here at ERES and we know that with your support, we will make this a safe, positive, and successful school year! We make every effort to prevent classroom interruptions. Student messages will be given to classrooms at the end of the day before 2:30 PM. Other messages can be left on a teacher’s voice mail. Changes in school-to-home transportation, etc. should be pre-arranged. Please DO NOT call and report a student absence to the student’s teacher. For your child’s safety, all of these calls should be made to the school office, 541- 830-1275 or 541-830-6192. Call the office to leave “after school instructions,” 541-830-6190 or 541-830-6192. If we do not receive a call to change “after school” instructions prior to 2:30 PM, we cannot guarantee the child will get the message and we will instruct the child to follow the “usual” arrangements.
