4 A VERY WELSH UNDERTAKING Tuesday, October 13, BBC One Wales, 10.35pm

Death comes to us all, but it’s hardly something most of us want to spend much time thinking about. Spare a thought, then, for the funeral directors, for whom death is very much a way of life.

A Very Welsh Undertaking, a new four-part series, takes a fascinating but sometimes uncomfortable look into the business, and into the day-to-day lives of those whose aim is to ease the burden on grieving families and loved ones. How do they do it?

Gareth Jenkins of Port Talbot has arranged thousands of funerals and can average up to ten a week, Hefin Williams is a young funeral director from the Gwendraeth Valley, and James Tovey works in Newport following in the footsteps of his great-great-great grandfather.

Despite strong traditions in this line of work, funerals in Wales are changing. Enter Helen Williams - can her background as an ex-world champion powerlifter help her shoulder the weight of responsibility as a funeral celebrant?
