Crummie: · MUL 102 – CLASS PIANO: STUDENTS IN THIS CLASS WILL BE GIVEN ASSIGNMENTS ON MOODLE TO COMPLETE DURING THEIR REQUIRED WEEKLY PRIVATE PRACTICE TIME. EACH STUDENT HAS A CLASS METHOD BOOK AND ACCESS TO A PIANO AT HOME. · MUS 212 – MUSIC THEORY IV: THIS STUDENT WILL CONTINUE EXPANDING HIS KNOWLEDGE OF FORM AND ANALYSIS BY PROVIDING A COMPLETE 2 TIER ANALYSIS OF MOZART’S SYMPHONY NO. 40 – IST MOVEMENT UTILIZING “SONATA-ALLEGRO FORM”. MATERIALS ARE CONTAINED WITHIN AN ANALYSIS TEXT BOOK. · MUS 101 – MUSIC THEORY (LECTURE CLASS) I WILL UPLOAD CLASS NOTES AND VIDEOS TO THE STUDENTS AND MAKE THEM AVAILABLE ON MOODLE. I PLAN TO HAVE A LIVE VIDEO STREAM DURING THEIR REGULAR CLASS TIME. · MUL 197/297 – JAZZ BAND: ALL BAND STUDENTS HAVE A COPIED COMPLETE SET OF SONGS (CHARTS) TO WORK ON WHILE AT HOME. THEY WILL BE REQUIRED TO PRACTICE AT LEAST 1 HOUR EACH DAY. · MUP 102, 133, 145, 146, 162, 182, 262 (APPLIED PRIVATE LESSONS) THESE STUDENTS EACH HAVE PEDAGOGICAL MATERIALS FROM WHICH TO USE IN THEIR PRIVATE PRACTIVE TIME. I WILL MAKE ASSIGNMENTS FROM THESE MATERIALS ON MOODLE. THEY WILL BE EXPECTED TO PRACTICE A MINIMUM OF 30 MINUTES EACH DAY. Wiseman: We were just finishing music of the classical period, face to face. My school uses Google Classroom as a delivery system. All of my are student comfortable with using this format. Online I intend to cover what we have yet to cover and can be covered via Google Classroom including the Romantic period, Impressionism, Expressionism, the Avant Garde, Serialism, 12 tone rows, Nationalism, Minimalism, Neo Romanticism, Opera, Broadway Musicals, Film Music, Social and Political Music. For Thursday, March 19th; Read the Wikipedia article: “Romantic Nationalism in the Arts” Also New York Times article by Annalisa Quinn: “Chopin’s Heart, Pickled in a Jar, Offers Clues to His Death”. Listening on YouTube: Chopin Polonaise Militaire opus 49 number 1. For Tuesday, March 31st: read the article on Wikipedia :”Life of Franz Liszt” Listen: YouTube: Liszt Transcendental Etude #1, Claudio Arrau Written assignment: 1 page essay on Romantic Nationalist composers. Due on April 9 th. For Thursday, April 2nd-Program Music. Program Symphony-Hector Berlioz- Fantastic Symphony. Read Wikipedia Symphonie Fantastique overview. Listen to: Symphonie Fantastique, Leonard Bernstein. THEATER / DANCE: Spencer: My students for dance class already have a facebook group just for them where we share videos weekly of their choreography for them to practice. I will ask my students to continue to work on their choreography using the videos while we are off from school due to this virus. I will also post a warm-up routine and technique class in jazz and/or ballet they can take as well. .
