Situation Ashmansworth is a beautiful village on the Downs about 6 miles south of Newbury. The village is surrounded by unspoilt rolling downland which forms part of the Wessex Conservation Area (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). There are local shops and services in (3.5 miles) and good access to Newbury and Andover. Communications to London and the rest of the country are excellent by road via the nearby A34, M3 and M4 and by rail via Whitchurch and Newbury stations.

Description Believed to have been built in 1778 and originally the village pub, The Plough has recently been converted to provide an excellent family house in this sought after village. From the hall, the large kitchen/dining room provides a great informal entertaining space having plenty of room for a large table and having fireplace with a wood burning stove. To the other side of the house, the sitting room provides a double reception room, measuring 26’ in length and has a further log burning stove. There is also a separate utility room, large larder and a boot room. The first floor offers a generous landing, off which can be found a master bedroom suite with a dressing room and a large en-suite shower room. There are two further bedrooms on the first floor and a further two bedrooms to the second floor, all of which are served by a family bathroom. Outside, there is a level mainly lawned garden to the rear of the house with a gravelled courtyard garden directly outside the sitting room. There is a further gravelled garden area between the house and the garage, against which there is a covered area perfect for outdoor entertaining. Planning was granted in 2015 for an extension to link the house to the garage. This has now lapsed, plans are available via Savills or via the council’s planning website planning reference number 15/00863/HSE. The garage provides plenty of storage space with a partly boarded first floor storage area. There is off road parking to the side of the garage.
