OTHER NUMBERS FROM THE OPENER 6 IN DOUBLE FIGURES – This was the first time LSU has put six player in double figures since the opening of the 2011-12 season when LSU defeated Nicholls State, 96-74, here in Baton Rouge. In that game, Anthony Hickey had 14, Andre Stringer, Ralston Turner and Johnny O’Bryant III had 12 each, Justin Hamilton 11 and Storm Warren 10. FRESHMAN DOUBLE DOUBLE – Emmitt Williams opened his LSU and college career with 12 points and 10 rebounds in 16 minutes against Southeastern … He is the first freshman to double double in the opening game since opened with 11 points and 13 rebounds in the opening game of the 2015-16 season versus McNeese State. ANOTHER WIN OVER STATE SCHOOL – The win over Southeastern makes the present streak of wins over state schools in the Maravich Center at 16 straight. The last loss to a state university came in November of 2011 when LSU lost to Nicholls, 62-53. LESS THAN 10 TURNOVERS – LSU had just nine turnovers for the contest and just three in the second half of the game. The flag was put up prior to the 2005 season in the building and was recently retired. Vice-Chancellor and Athletics Director Joe Alleva along with Tiger Athletic Foundation CEO Rick Perry presented the flag in a special shadow box to the Sims family in honor of Wayde. Coach Will Wade presented the Sims the game ball from the win over Southeastern and a special video was shown celebrating Wayde both in his time at University High and at LSU.

LSU HOME WIN STREAK REACHES NINE The win over UNCG gives LSU nine consecutive wins in the Maravich Center dating back to the final seven home games of a year ago. Ironically, prior to those seven wins, LSU lost three consecutive games in the build- ing at the start of SEC play before winning its final six home games of the 2017-18 regular season and the NIT game with UL-Lafayette. In the history of the Maravich Center, the Tigers have had 14 streaks of 11 games or more ... The last long winning streak was when LSU won the final three games of the 2007-08 season and then won the first 14 in 2008-09 for a total of 17 games, the fourth longest in the history of the Maravich Center. LSU finished 14-4 at home last year in the Maravich Center. LSU has now with Friday night won 551 games in this the 48th year of play in the building and 253 in league play.

STARTING 2-0 The Tigers opened 2-0 for the fifth consecutive year with wins over Southeastern and UNCG. LSU will be attempting to go 3-0 for the fourth consecutive year.
