National team call-up of the player Henrikh MKHITARYAN

Dear Sirs,

We refer to your letter dated 27 October 2020 regarding the call-up of Henrikh MKHITARYAN for the UEFA Nations League matches on 15 November and 18 November 2020.

To this end, please note that one of the members of our squad has recently tested positive for COVID-19. As such, all our players and members of staff are required to respect a very strict FIGC protocol, whereby their movements are restricted and they are only allowed to travel between their home and place of work. They are also subject to COVID-19 tests every 48 hours, and are not allowed to deviate from these strict provisions.

In light of the above, and also bearing in mind the contents of FIFA Circular no. 1735 dated 1 October 2020, whereby member associations and clubs are urged to work together in a spirit of cooperation to face the challenge of the COVID-19 pandemic, we respectfully ask that you consider releasing Henrikh MKHITARYAN from his obligation to join the national team for the upcoming international window.

We believe that this would be in the best interests of not only the player, but also the safety of all of your national team players and staff, as well as all other individuals who may come into contact with the player during his trip.

We regret this unfortunate situation, and we look forward to receiving your confirmation that on this occasion the player is released from his international duties due to these exceptional circumstances.

Thank you for your kind cooperation during these unprecedented times.

Yours sincerely,
