Membership Details Members must be over 16 years of age and membership is free of charge. Meetings are publicised. October of each year AGM The group holds 2 general meetings a year, all tenants in the area are invited to attend. In addition, articles about the Representation group’s activities are put into the local paper. Deal with local grievances, environmental issues, untidy Activities of the Group gardens, broken fences. Group ensures equal opportunities by adhering to the clause in their constitution which states that membership is Equal Opportunities open, non-racist, non-political & non-sectarian for those resident in the Blair Area. In addition, articles about the group’s activities are put into the Representation local paper. 3 To safeguard and promote the interests of tenants and Activities of the Group residents in the area on matters concerning housing, the environment, and the social and community life of the area. Members must not discriminate of the grounds of Equal Opportunities nationality, political opinion, race, religious opinion, gender, sexuality, or disability. June of each year. AGM Meetings are held for members on the last Wednesday of Representation every month Deal with local grievances, environmental issues, untidy gardens, broken fences, road surfaces, and lighting in the Activities of the Group streets etc. Constitution ensures that membership is open & free to all Equal Opportunities tenants. Membership Details Members shall have an equal vote and at all times conduct themselves in a reasonable manner when attending meetings. Will be held within fourteen months of the previous AGM AGM The committee shall meet not less than six times per year, in addition to the AGM and other general meetings. The committee will keep its members informed through Representation public meetings and by issuing flyers/leaflets. A statement of intent has been agreed by the committee on how the group aims to engage with its members. An action plan has been drafted and agreed by the committee which outlines the priorities of the group over the Activities of the Group coming year. (Please note priorities may be subject to change. Members will uphold equal opportunities and work towards good relations amongst all members of the community, especially prohibiting any conduct that discriminates or Equal Opportunities harasses on the grounds of race, religion, disability, political beliefs, sex, or sexual orientation. Tenants and residents who reside in either Lambie or O’Connor Court can attend AGM and be elected onto the Committee. February or within fourteen months of the preceding AGM. AGM Minutes from meetings posted on communal boards in entrance hall of each building. Individual letters delivered Representation to all tenants. All tenants are welcome to attend meetings and become committee members. Members have actively attended North Ayrshire Councils Housing Strategy Meetings for the past two years. The group has successfully lobbied for new heating, CCTV security, caretaker services and the redecoration of communal areas. The group have worked in partnership Activities of the Group with NAC to convert the ground floor drying area in O’Connor Court into a permanent resident meeting room. Members of this group regularly contribute to a number of working groups with NAC staff All are welcome to take part. The organisation shall be non-racist, non-political, and non-sectarian in nature. Members must uphold equal opportunities and work towards good relations amongst all members of the Equal Opportunities community, especially prohibiting any conduct that discriminates or harasses on the grounds of race, religion, disability, political beliefs, sex, or sexual orientation.
