Bro. Geoff was carrying Lodge Minute books and other Secretarial paraphernalia, which were scattered over a wide area. It is due to sympathetic police, recognising the importance of what they were picking up, that we still have a continuity of minute books. W.Bro. John Reid took the collar of secretary for the next nine years. 1989 saw the first installation as Master of W. Bro. David Bateman, later to become the only member to be installed as Master of St. Bride for three years. 1993 saw the first of two Brethren supporting the Lodge by occupying the Chair of King Solomon for two years in succession. W. Bro. Malcolm Clark was W.M. for 1993•94 and 1994•95 followed by W. Bro. Christopher John Harding in 1995•96 and 1996•97. This has only occurred once before in the Lodge's history. In 1997 after his 14 year office W. Bro. Bertram Brewer finally persuaded the Brethren that he was serious about passing the Treasureship on to another 'volunteer'. W. Bro. John Reid, agreed to be Treasurer, and was elected by the brethren. W. Bro. P. Waters became Secretary, and remained until amalgamation. 1999 was the 400th Anniversary of extant minutes of the Lodge of Edinburgh (Mary's Chapel No.1.), for which St Bride, with its continued association over the last 90 years, received a special invitation to attend. A deputation of eight brethren made the journey and reported back on the excellent celebrations held to mark this auspicious occasion. Our 100th year commenced with some sadness when we heard of the passing of W. Bro .S. Riley the organist of St Bride for many years. Later that year the Centenary Banquet, was held at The New Connaught rooms on 15th November 2000, when 100 guests enjoyed a magnificent evening. Reviewing the past 107 years, the author has been conscious that St. Bride has never really been about size, status or quantity, but about quality. Now as newly con•joined members of the Alexandra Palace Lodge we must never forget our own rich history, which we must pass on "pure and unsullied".
