Press release The latest from Bank Gutmann: Gutmann Talks – Villa Seiler: “The effortlessness of flying” (Linz/Vienna, June 5th, 2019) – Bank Gutmann opened its fifth subsidiary at the beginning of the year, rounding out the range of private banking services offered in Upper Austria’s banking scene. On top of this, Bank Gutmann will now also stage regular get-togethers at Villa Seiler in Linz, providing an exclusive setting for stakeholders to exchange information on topics from the world of finance, industry, business and research. The very first round of Gutmann Talks was held at the end of May, dedicated to the topic of mobility under the heading “The effortlessness of flying”. Speaking to an exclusive audience of about 30 guests, Robert Machtlinger, CEO of aircraft component manufacturer FACC AG, and Herbert Anzengruber, managing director of non-scheduled airline Jet Fly, provided fascinating insights into current developments and a glimpse of future From left to right: Matthias Albert (partner and board member of Bank Gutmann), challenges in the aviation industry. Herbert Anzengruber (managing director of Jet Fly), Robert Machtlinger (CEO of FACC), Werner Blaslbauer (head of Bank Gutmann’s Linz office) “Every second, an aircraft with FACC technology on board takes off somewhere in the world” – with these words, Robert Machtlinger clearly illustrated FACC’s international standing and development in recent years. In his talk, he outlined the company’s evolution from a subsidiary of Fischer Ski Group to the shining example of an independent, Upper Austrian company it is today. With headquarters in Ried im Innkreis and a workforce of 3,500 employees at 13 locations, the company now generates sales of almost EUR 800 million worldwide and has also been listed in the ATX since 2014. The company is currently well on the way to expanding its lead. One of its latest accomplishments is the air taxi, which Robert Machtlinger expects to be approved by 2021. The second part of the evening was all about the myth of private jets. Founded back in 1996, Jet Fly is today headed by Herbert Anzengruber and founder Karl Kletzmair as managing directors. Herbert Anzengruber took the audience on an entertaining journey through the company’s history, from its early days when it was just starting out with a Cessna Citation II to its current status as a strong contender in the industry, whose fleet adds an important layer to Upper Austria’s infrastructure. By now, Jet Fly’s customer base includes many of the largest companies in Austria (but also elsewhere in the world) and prominent individuals, which is testament to the company’s successful work and premium service in private aviation. The client specifies the location where he would like to be picked up and the destination of his appointment or holiday. Jet Fly takes care of the rest, with almost no Page 1 boundaries as to what a client can ask for. Herbert Anzengruber also put the subject into perspective in economic terms, thus debunking the myth that private jets are per se a very costly affair. Werner Blaslbauer, head of Bank Gutmann’s branch office in Linz, is happy with the outcome of the event: “We want to provide a space for regular exchange on current challenges and topics while at the same time making our partners’ unique expertise available to our clients. Our Gutmann Talks are an excellent opportunity for all attendees to get first-hand accounts and insights from Austria’s top businesses.” The five-strong team headed by Werner Blaslbauer at Bank Gutmann’s Linz office advises entrepreneurs, private individuals and foundations throughout Upper Austria. Apart from its headquarters in Vienna, Bank Gutmann also has offices in Salzburg, Prague and Budapest.
