While existing literature tends to focus on the majority religions of Hinduism and Buddhism, much less attention is given to Jainism, Sikhism, Islam or Christianity. The BJP, which only had four MLAs in 2009 assembly election in Haryana, Ashok Kumar easily crossed the halfway mark of 45 in the 90-member Assembly by winning 47 seats. CHAPTER II HISTORY ANCIENT PERIOD The archaeological discoveries prove that the region of Panipat was inhabited by human beings from very earlier times and had been the centre of vigorous cultural and political activity. We know from the hymns of the Rigveda (VII, 18,19; V.52,17) that the Bharatas of the Saraswati Valley held sway up to the Yamuna river and defeated Ajas, Sigrus and Yaksus1. The archaeological heritage of Panipat region can be divided into pre-historic, proto-historic and historical phases. The extent of archaeological sites of Panipat district, numbering 63, can be classified into Pre-Harappan, Harappan, Late Harappan, Painted Grey Ware (PGW), Grey Ware, Early Historical, Early Medieval and Medieval periods2. Alexander Cunningham and Rodgers were the first archaeologists who collected some relics specially coins from a few sites of Panipat. But it was in the year 1952 that B. B. Lal of Archaeological Survey of India discovered Painted Grey Ware and Northern Black Polished Ware from the mounds of Panipat and Sonepat. S. B. Chaudhary also discovered the Painted Grey Ware at Baholi, 13 kilometres to north-west of Panipat3. Subsequent archaeological explorations conducted by a number of archaeologists and recent explorations along the right bank of River Yamuna conducted under the supervision of C. Dorje have resulted to the discovery of Dull Red Ware in Garsh Sanrai in Panipat Tehsil and Red Ware, Red Polished Ware and Dull Red Ware in Jaurasi Khalsa in Samalkha Tehsil of Panipat district. These explorations have brought to light several ancient mounds containing the relics of bygone history4. -

Ancient India Hinduism Hinduism is the most commonly-followed religion in India, and one of the world’s oldest religions. The Hindu belief is that gods or divinities come in many forms, but they all form one universal spirit called Brahman. The three most important representations of Brahman are: Brahma, the creator of the universe, Vishnu, the protector/preserver of the universe, and Shiva, the destroyer of the universe. Ramayana and Mahabharata are important pieces of literature from ancient India (sometimes called “The Great Epics”). Ramayana is the small and more compact tale of Rama (one of the incarnations of Lord Vishnu). Ramayana teaches about social and cultural values (the importance of family). Brahma Vishnu Shiva The sacred book of Mahabharata teaches the concepts of dharma and karma. The Bhagavad Gita is a part of Mahabharata, as explained by Krishna (another incarnation of Vishnu). The Vedas are the largest texts originating in India. Vedas is composed of ancient Vedic Sanskrit.There are four Vedas: the Rigveda, the Yajurveda, the Samaveda and the Atharvaveda. Vedas is the primary text of Hinduism. It also has a vast influence on Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism.The Vedas contain hymns, incarnations, and rituals from ancient India. Caste System/Classes Hindus (followers of Hinduism) are divided into four major classifications, or categories: Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas and the Shudras (untouchables). ● Brahmins: They are considered the first-class, or the highest class, of people in the Indian caste system. According to Rigveda, Brahmins evolved from the head of Brahma. Also known as priests (who lead prayers in Hindu temples), they are the only caste who are specialized in doing rituals like weddings with hymns/prayers and other religious ceremonies. -

This time the huge traction towards BJP's candidate Rao Inderjeet is not just based on Congress' misgovernance in the state but also because of his personality. His style of functioning as a down-to-earth organisational man will enable him to override not only anti-incumbency but also factionalism. XXXVIII NO. 1, 2018 Preparation and Evaluation of Brahui Text Books for Primary Education in Balochistan Dr. Waheed Razzaq1 Abstract This research paper attempts to demonstrate that how Brahui language was introduced as a medium of education specially at primary level in Balochistan. The first period of Brahui teaching begins when the book of Molvi Allah Bux a Persian teacher of High School Karachi was published in 1886. Purpose of this book was to provide basic knowledge of Brahui to the British army officers who wore serving in Balochistan. The second period begins when religious scholars of Durkhani religious institution ‘Maktaba e Durkhani’ at Dhadar used Brahui and Balochi languages as medium of education for spread of Islam in the first half of the twentieth century. The third period begins from the last quarter of the twentieth century up to now. In this phase Brahui has been introduced as medium of instruction in many educational institutions including public sector universities and colleges in Balochistan. Brahui was introduced at primary school level for a short period of only two academic years in 1990 but ended in 1992. In 2014 government of Balochistan passed an act named ‘The Balochistan introduction of mother languages as compulsory additional subject at primary level act 2014’ after that bill level one to three books were developed and are being though in primary levels from last three years, book four is near to published. Some social organizations are also working in this field.
