Ceelo Green the Next Superstar to Perform In FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 12/14/15 CONTACT: Garin Narain, Janet Smith or Jelani Downing, Hawks Communications (404) 878-3800 CEELO GREEN THE NEXT SUPERSTAR TO PERFORM IN HAWKS CONCERT SERIES Multi-Platinum Recording Artist, TV Personality and Entrepreneur Will Take Over the Court When the Hawks Face the New York Knicks on Dec. 26 ATLANTA, GA – The gifts will keep coming for Hawks fans on Dec. 26 when Atlanta’s own CeeLo Green takes to the mic to perform at halftime and postgame at the Hawks’ contest against the New York Knicks. The multi-Grammy Award winner will play hits from his solo career, as well as tracks from Gnarls Barkley and the Goodie Mob catalogue, in the next installment of the in-game concert series. A special retail pack will be available at Philips Arena’s Hawks Shop, containing a limited edition shirt and “Heart Blanche,” the latest studio album from Green, an original coach of NBC’s “The Voice.” Along with the highly-anticipated performance, the Hawks are making a donation to CeeLo’s Green- house Foundation. Greenhouse’s mission is “to educate, inspire and influence school-aged children in disadvantaged areas to become responsible stewards of their environment, communities and future.” The organization, founded by CeeLo and his sister, Shedonna Alexander, serves as a tribute to their grandmother, Ruby Callaway Robinson, Executive Director of CASCADE, and their late mother, Sheila J. Callaway, one of the first African-American female firefighters in the city of Atlanta. "I am true to Atlanta. It's my home," CeeLo said. "As a proud ATLien, I'm honored to join the Hawks on Dec. 26 to perform my new and classic music for the home crowd and players. [We’ll] celebrate another great game and season for our team! CeeLo joins, Jeezy, Rich Homie Quan, and Big Grams, a collaboration between Big Boi and Phantogram, as chart-topping superstars to perform in front of Hawks fans this season as part of the on-going concert series. “As we looked at who we wanted to have perform next at our games, CeeLo was on the top of our wish list. Consequentially, while the role of album art has evolved to meet the changes in music technology, it is hard to measure the effect of digital streaming on modern album art. This research seeks to determine whether or not graphic design still plays a role in marketing information about the music, such as its genre, to the consumer. It does so through two studies: 1. A computer visual analysis that measures color dominance of an image, and 2. A mixed-design lab experiment with volunteer participants who attempt to assess the genre of a given album. Findings from the first study show that color scheme models created from album samples cannot be used to predict the genre of an album. Further findings from the second theory show that consumers pay a significant amount of attention to album covers, enough to be able to correctly assess the genre of an album most of the time.

Started in 1971 with the popular TVC “I'd Like to Buy the World a Coke”. Similarly, The “Open Happiness” Campaign was also using music as its strength to grab people's attention. The song which is titled is the same as its campaign, Open Happiness, then became the creative spearhead of Coca Cola's global advertising campaign. The above facts then raises questions which are how music being part of the creative communications strategy in advertising. Semiotics was used as the method to evaluate music as a creative communications strategy on Coca Cola “Open Happiness” TVCs campaign. It also analyzed based on type of music, lyrics and singers. This campaign used the 'dum-dum' beat on hip hop music which creates fun and happy feelings. Then its lyrics asked people to have fun with friends, share happiness with Coca Cola and forget about sadness. Also famous singers which have strong connections with their fans which make it easier for Coca Cola to get into that community. That component is then packed into one song which makes people enjoy it without having any feelings of being persuaded.     1 Introduction to Hadley Journal Collection In 2015, Betty Ann Hadley of Nashville, TN donated a number of family items to the Archives Department at the Nashville Public Library. The donation included 11 handwritten journals by her mother, Elizabeth Lois Meguiar Hadley, several yearbooks from Isaac Litton High School and Goodlettsville High School, and several color slides of historic houses in the Inglewood/East Nashville area. Betty Hadley was a respected and beloved teacher at both Litton and Goodlettsville high schools, retiring from Litton in 1983. Her only sibling, Albert Hadley, Jr, became a renowned interior designer in New York City. The journals of their mother, Elizabeth Lois Meguiar Hadley, who was born in 1894, paint a rich description of life in the Nashville and Springfield area from her childhood through the World War II years. Many historical events occurred in the time period Hadley records, including both World War I and II. Her access to family letters and documents allowed her to record how, for example, the Civil War affected the prewar and postwar lives of regular citizens. A number of her ancestors fought for the Confederacy in the Civil War and the descriptions of Union soldiers in Tennessee are decidedly Southern; she states how these perceptions of “Yankees” are passed along through generations, noting that “prejudice is like a poison, and it is so easily instilled into the hearts of children.” The letters of her paternal grandfather, William “Buck” Meguiar, are particularly affecting. Kept by her father in his trunk, the letters depict some of the aftermath of the Civil War but primarily demonstrate the perennial hopes of parents for their children, the offered advice, and, in one letter, instructions on how to trade mules.

Using genre analysis as a methodology and a black feminist theoretical framework, I examine representations of white and black women slave-owners to argue that their financial power is complicated by their subjugation – in order to gain power in the slave system that oppresses them, women are often required to simultaneously participate in the exploitation and abuse of slaves. I argue that the plantation mistress trope, a popular American cultural stereotype typified by the character of Scarlett O’Hara in Gone with the Wind , is evoked and complicated by twenty-first century artists; in their representations of slavery, by portraying women as actively contributing to the financial exchange of slaves, twenty-first century musicians, writers, and filmmakers, such as Edward P.
