Therefore one gets to listen to the powerfull voice of Virgin Steele's Shouter David DeFeis, as well as to the voices of Floor Jansen (current voice of Nightwish), Simone Simons (Epica), Fabio Lione (Rhapsody of Fire), Zachary Stevens (Savatage) and the slightly less known Ladies Elize Ryd (Amaranth) and Caterine Nix, who works currently at her debut album, which is produced by Tolkki as well. Regarding the vocals there's therefore surely nothing to nag about and many facets are served. Musically, drummer Tuomo Lassila is in first place of the availability. He played from 1987 til 1995 personally alongside of Tolkki and he was currently on the road with the band Conquest. The chemistry is right there, what can be felt and heard due to the new songs. Keyboardist Antti Ikonen was equally long in Stratovarius working with Tolkki and on the new work he also does his job masterly great. After the completely chanted solo and somehow goosebumps causing intro, it directly starts off with "Jerusalem is Falling".

Anotace Bakalářská práce se zabývá vývojem hudebního žánru zvaného heavy metal. Celkově je rozdělena do čtyř částí, jejíž první část osvětluje pojem metal a metalovou subkulturu. Následující text zpracovává nejen jeho první projevy, ale i důležité milníky v čele s Black Sabbath, které metal formovaly. Chronologicky sestavuje obraz jeho zrodu a postupného rozvoje v další nekonečné množství subžánrů. Tyto odnože jsou nastíněny jak jejich charakteristikami, tak nejvýznamnějšími zástupci. Práce je do určité míry zaměřena i na vliv žen v tomto stylu. Proto se snaží nalézt stopy hudebnic či čistě ženských hudebních skupin v daných subžánrech, a na konci pátrání shrnout zjištěné poznatky.     The Soundtrack of Mental Health

    Greetings! 2018 was a stellar year for our organization. We have been busy in the trenches in the Atlanta community and across the nation making strides in erasing the stigma around mental health and poverty. Leading the way has been our mental health efforts, largely in part to the Silence the Shame (STS) movement. #SilenceTheShame is now a commonly used hashtag in the fight against stigma, especially in communities of color. Due to the overwhelming response to the movement, programs, and outcomes, our team and the Board of Directors felt that a name change of the foundation from the Hip-Hop Professional Foundation, Inc. (HHPF) to Silence the Shame, Inc. is a better representation of our efforts and focus moving forward. The name change will occur in 2019. The foundation’s work last year was impactful and plentiful given our limited funding with the hard work of our small but mighty staff and volunteer committee. We completed a 7-city teen mental health tour with the Jack and Jill Foundation, Inc., impacting teens in New York, Texas, Illinois, California and the District of Columbia. In addition, we secured a partnership with the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities to curate work- shops and trainingsaround Behavioral Health and Faith in the State of Georgia. Finally, we produced successful Community Conversations with partners in music, technology, film and entertainment. The National Day Calendar recognized our efforts and officially proclaimed May 5th as National Silence the Shame day. We used that platform to raise funds for the foundation. Donors and supporters participated in a national text-a-thon on May 5th by donating/posting to social media.

Title: Visual Metaphors on Album Covers: An Analysis into Graphic Design’s Effectiveness at Conveying Music Genres. Abstract approved:_____________________________________________________ Ryann Reynolds-McIlnay The rise of digital streaming has largely impacted the way the average listener consumes music. Consequentially, while the role of album art has evolved to meet the changes in music technology, it is hard to measure the effect of digital streaming on modern album art. This research seeks to determine whether or not graphic design still plays a role in marketing information about the music, such as its genre, to the consumer. It does so through two studies: 1. A computer visual analysis that measures color dominance of an image, and 2. A mixed-design lab experiment with volunteer participants who attempt to assess the genre of a given album. Findings from the first study show that color scheme models created from album samples cannot be used to predict the genre of an album. Further findings from the second theory show that consumers pay a significant amount of attention to album covers, enough to be able to correctly assess the genre of an album most of the time.
