THE TEAM LETTER FROM THE EDITOR Editor-In-Chief: WHERE IS THE LOVE? Managing Editor:

We have talented musicians, artists and so many more art forms to give all we ask for is support. I would love to see ZA LIVE magazine Marketing editor: go places one day but I know for a fact that it wont go anywhere if we choose to neglect the content that fills up the pages of this magazine. A magazine is only as good as it`s content and trust me the content that is walking up and down these streets of 1632 is beyound talent made Public Relations: in a unique creation. So why the title “where is the love” for my editors note? If you look at the variety of talent lurking in the hood compared to all this nonsense we have been forced to endure our entire lifes you Photography: have to sit back and ask yourself where is the love for these dope art- ists, we not saying they must make it for us to listen to them, but fame doesnt change the fact that thier sh!t is REAL!! #1 zalivemagazine.wordpress.com facebook.com/zalivemagazine #2 fashion and beauty -weli m fashion tips how to dress for a first date What to wear...

Ladies when you’re going on a first date it’s always a good idea to make a good first im- pression, never show too much or cover up completly either, always highlight your best feature, for instance if you have a tiny waste wearing a belt to highlight that is very attrac- tive. There are different types of outfits men and women can wear on different dates. My tip for men is to always pick your shoes wisely that says a lot about you. Ladies my tip is not to show too much make him want to go on a second date with you. Gentlemen women love a well groomed man, by that I mean clean and smell good too, I don’t mean metrosexual, even though some of us appreciate such men you need to be a manly man. What not to wear...

When going on a date never wear anything that’s too revealing, it will give the wrong message to your date, he will rate you as too easy he’ll probably make a move to get into your pants and when he succeeds you’ll never hear from him again. Gentlemen please don’t wear shorts unless you’re going on a picnic or some kind of market. Ladies please don’t wear plunging necklines with stripper heals, he’ll never call you back that’s even if he considers going out in public with you. If you respect yourself and dress appropriately he’ll respect you too, he’ll definitely consider a second date. When wearing a short skirt make sure the top part is covered you need to leave something for his imagina- tion, and vice versa if you show some cleavage cover the legs. Another tip, when wearing something loose on top compliment it with something tight at the bottom don’t be baggy from head to toe it just looks tacky.

facebook.com/zaliveextra #4 BEING HUMANCHILD

Beautiful, soulful and passion is what you experience when well-known R&B soul singer Humanchild is on the stage. Being a younger sister to Freddie Boasta also known as the Lyri- cal henchman a well respect hip hop artist from 1632, Humanchild carries a light that shines brighter in her own form. Her voice alone captures the audience attention and her tenacity brings justice to R&B Soul music by this beautiful songstress.

Humanchild who used to go by the BlaqSoul has always been in the music industry from back in the Kota tour days when she was mesmerised by all the stage performances that took place, Tembisa, being largely a hip hop community and all, Humanchild insisted on leaving her mark in the community.

Her path began as a vocalist in the band called the Dimished, a well-established band in Tembisa that has been going strong since the OMS days, she was just what they needed to add something more softer but yet powerful to the band, you could say she is the cherry on top to the band, and has since manipulated the live band feel to exonerate her Queen like status on stage. From each show they perform at her growth elevates to new and exciting heights and you can’t help but wonder where does this sister get so much soul.

But don’t let this soul sister fool you, she is also a computer whiz by profession, doing graphics and web design to provide a life for herself, she is a true inspiration to young female artists out there proving to them that you may have a career path but aint nothing wrong with following your dream, and I have to add seeing Humanchild live on stage is a dream come true for both her and her audience that get to experience her performance.

#5 zalivemagazine.wordpress.com Her inspiration to her powerful lyrics come from TDK`s, how music to her was still physical how she felt listening to the songs there, she was touched by the material that came along with the TDK. Her first TDK was Beyoncé she was dangerously in love as well as the mixes of Eddie Zondie where one of the tracks in the mix inspired her to write not baby making stuff, but the suttle tantalising feel good soul music.

Humanchild is bringing a new feel to soul music, bringing back the old and adding the new sound with her exquisite voice. Being a part of a hip hop commu- nity that mostly classifies young females as “bitches” and “hoes” she has sought to come out as not a diva but a Queen and has given young girls the will power to come into their Queen status and shine in their own right.

Her poise on stage, the way her voice fills up the room and her grace are just some of the things you get to experience when she is on stage. Such talent should not be put in studio and shared with the rest of the country, and we hope that next time we see her on stage it`s for her album launch.

Haute Cabriere Pinot NOIR

the month of love has arrived and every season and celebration should always be enjoyed with a complimenting wine. Valentines is about spending it with your loved ones and making them feel special, it`s about reminding that one person that youlove them and how much you care. The Haute Cabriere Pinot Noir will help in capturing those good memories. The wine has strawberry aromas with a hint of lemon and a slight smoky bouquet with vinilla finish. It is best served with slightly chilled at 12 degrees and compliments both chicken and beef dishes. The farm is well known for it`s exceptional blend of the chardonnay and pinot noir, but the vintage bottle is the perfect way to say I love you this Valentines day. This wine retails at R185 a bottle

The past month I travelled to Dobsonville, Disofeng Pub to show some love and support to our boys M-Da Flava and Edsta collectively called Best Kept Secret (BKS), a hip hop group from Tembisa, Phomolong. When we got there the atmosphere was different to the one that we used to in 1632, being a house community and all, it was a bit worrying to see if they could convince a house crowd turn up to . But one thing which was heart-warming even for me is the fact that we showed support in numbers, the BKS was not alone on this they had the 1632 fam to hype up the crowd
