She Keeps Moet Et Chandon in a Pretty Cabinet 'Let Them Eat Cake She keeps Moet et Chandon In a pretty cabinet 'Let them eat cake' she says Just like Marie Antoinette A built-in remedy For Khrushchev and Kennedy At anytime an invitation You can't decline Caviar and cigarettes Well versed in etiquette Extraordinarily nice Chorus: She's a Killer Queen Gunpowder, Gelatine Dynamite with a laser beam Guaranteed to blow your mind Anytime Recommended at the price Insatiable an appetite Wanna try? To avoid complications She never kept the same address In conversation She spoke just like a baroness Met a man from China Went down to Asia Minor Then again incidentally If you're that way inclined Perfume came naturally from Paris for cars she couldn't care less Fastidious and precise Chorus Drop of a hat she's as willing as Playful as a pussy cat Then momentarily out of action Temporarily out of gas To absolutely drive you wild, wild She's out to get you Chorus Recommended at the price Insatiable in appetite Wanna try? You wanna try. [Intro] I don't know dude... I think everyone's all jealous and shit cuz I'm like the lead singer of a band dude... And I think everyone's got a fucking problem with me dude... My salsa, salsa, salsa, salsa, my salsa My salsa makes all the pretty girls wan to dance And take off their underpants My salsa makes all the pretty girls wan to dance And take off their underpants, my salsa (Where'd everybody go?) "Cleanin Out My Closet" Where's my snare, I have no snare in my headphones, there ya' go, yeah, yo', yo'... Have you ever been hated or discriminated against, I have, i've been protested and demonstrated against, picket signs for my wicked rhymes, look at the times, sick is the mind of the motherfuckin' kid that's behind, all this commotion, emotions run deep as ocean's explodin', tempers flaring from parents, just blow 'em off and keep goin', not takin' nothin' from no one, give 'em hell long as i'm breathin', keep kickin' ass in the mornin', an' takin' names in the evening, leave 'em with a taste as sour as vinegar in they mouth, see they can trigger me but they'll never figure me out, look at me now, I bet ya' probably sick of me now, ain't you mama, i'ma make you look so ridiculous now... [CHORUS] I'm sorry mama, I never meant to hurt you, I never meant to make you cry, but tonight i'm cleanin' out my closet, {one more time}, I said i'm sorry mama, I never meant to hurt you, I never meant to make you cry, but tonight i'm cleanin' out my closet... I got some skeletons in my closet and I don't know if no one knows it, so before they thrown me inside my coffin and close it, i'ma expose it, i'll take you back to '73, before I ever had a multi-platinum sellin' Cd, I was a baby, maybe I was just a couple of months, my faggot father must have had his pantie's up in a bunch, cause he split, I wonder if he even kissed me goodbye, no I don't on second thought, I just fuckin' wished he would die, I look at Hailie and I couldn't picture leavin' her side, even if I hated Kim, I grit my teeth and I'd try, to make it work with her at least for Hailie's sake, I maybe made some mistakes but i'm only human, but i'm man enough to face them today, what I did was stupid, no doubt it was dumb, but the smartest shit I did was take them bullets out of that gun, cause id'a killed 'em, shit I would have shot Kim and him both, it's my life, i'd like to welcome y'all to the Eminem show..

Voulgaris A Thesis in the Field of History for the Degree of Master of Liberal Arts in Extension Studies Harvard University November 2016 © November 2016, Panos John Voulgaris Abstract The rhetoric and life of Muhammad Ali greatly influenced the advancement of African Americans. How did the words of Ali impact the development of black America in the twentieth century? What role does Ali hold in history? Ali was a supremely talented artist in the boxing ring, but he was also acutely aware of his cultural significance. The essential question that must be answered is how Ali went from being one of the most reviled people in white America to an icon of humanitarianism for all people. He sought knowledge through personal experience and human interaction and was profoundly influenced by his own upbringing in the throes of Louisville’s Jim Crow segregation.

Eminem quickly gained popularity in 1999 with his major-label debut album, The Slim Shady LP, which won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. The following album, The Marshall Mathers LP, became the fastest-selling solo album in United States history.[2] It brought Eminem increased popularity, including his own record label, Shady Records, and brought his group project, D12, to mainstream recognition. The Marshall Mathers LP and his third album, The Eminem Show, also won Grammy Awards, making Eminem the first artist to win Best Rap Album for three consecutive LPs. He then won the award again in 2010 for his album Relapse and in 2011 for his album Recovery, giving him a total of 13 Grammys in his career. In 2003, he won the Academy Award for Best Original Song for "Lose Yourself" from the film, 8 Mile, in which he also played the lead. "Lose Yourself" would go on to become the longest running No. 1 hip hop single.[3] Eminem then went on hiatus after touring in 2005.

  • Black and White Doesn't Mean Grey
Black and White Doesn’t Mean Gray, Willy Lizárraga Black and White Doesn’t Mean Gray Willy Lizárraga Back and forth. The ball. Bounce and rebound. Fast because it is against a wall and it’ll return everything you throw at it. It’ll defeat you no matter what, although it will always leave it up to you to decide when to walk away. I was at that point. Actually, I was past that point. My arm and wrist had already given up. I wasn’t going to quit, though. This girl at the other end of the wall had been at it when I arrived and was still going strong. I kept eyeing her. She wasn’t even sweating. She mixed up her shots with absolute control: forehands, backhands, serves, volleys, always hitting the wall at exactly the same spot, right between the bathroom door and its only window. She wore red shorts and a loose gray t-shirt, ripped at one shoulder. Her tennis shoes were so old they didn’t have color anymore. She had an enormous Afro, almost bigger than her, and long, perfectly cylindrical legs. Her socks were super white. Or maybe it just seemed so against her dark skin. Her shoulders were small, like her hips. Meanwhile, my humiliation kept building up. So I purposefully hit the ball to her side. I wanted to interrupt her, to stop the unstoppable flow of her shots. Maybe I could even talk to her. It was like eight in the morning. We were the only ones in the park.

This track is the beginning of an album of songs whose great hooks belie their rich narrative content. It is surely among Hayman‟s most catchy batches of songs and that‟s saying something. The electric blue-grass band he has assembled gives this record a fuller sound than his last outing with the appropriately named solo project Table For One. Occasional use of horns, uplifting saxophone here, delicate trumpet there, and the presence of guitars now fully back since the electronic experiments of Dead Media and Local Information all up the power but don‟t deaden the wit.

  • Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man: What Men Really Think About Love
ACT LIKE A Lady, THINK LIKE A MAN Steve Harvey * WHAT MEN REALLY THINK A'BOUT LOVE, RELATIONSHIPS, INTIMACY, AND COMMITMENT I 've made a living for more than twenty years making people laugh about themselves, about each other, about family, and friends, and, most certainly, about love, sex, and relationships. My humor is always rooted in truth and full of wisdom the kind that comes from living, watching, learning, and knowing. I'm told my jokes strike chords with people be cause they can relate to them, especially the ones that explore the dynamics of relationships between men and women. It never ceases to amaze me how much people talk about relationships, think about them, read about them, ask about them even get in them without a clue how to move them forward. For sure, if there's anything I've discovered during my journey here on God's earth, it's this: (a) too many women are clueless about men, (b) men get away with a whole lot of stuff in relationships because women have never understood how men think, and (c) I've got some valuable information to change all of that. I discovered this when my career transitioned to radio with the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Back when my show was based in Los Angeles, I created a segment called Ask Steve, during which women could call in and ask anything they wanted to about relationships. Anything. At the very least, I thought Ask Steve would lead to some good comedy, and at .rst, that's pretty much what it was all about for me getting to the jokes.

"WEIRD AL" YANKOVIC: POLKAS, PARODIES AND THE POWER OF SATIRE By Chuck Miller Originally published in Goldmine #514 Al Yankovic strapped on his accordion, ready to perform. All he had to do was impress some talent directors, and he would be on The Gong Show, on stage with Chuck Barris and the Unknown Comic and Jaye P. Morgan and Gene Gene the Dancing Machine. "I was in college," said Yankovic, "and a friend and I drove down to LA for the day, and auditioned for The Gong Show. And we did a song called 'Mr. Frump in the Iron Lung.' And the audience seemed to enjoy it, but we never got called back. So we didn't make the cut for The Gong Show." But while the Unknown Co mic and Gene Gene the Dancing Machine are currently brain stumpers in 1970's trivia contests, the accordionist who failed the Gong Show taping became the biggest selling parodist and comedic recording artist of the past 30 years. His earliest parodies were recorded with an accordion in a men's room, but today, he and his band have replicated tracks so well one would think they borrowed the original master tape, wiped off the original vocalist, and superimposed Yankovic into the mix. And with MTV, MuchMusic, Dr. Demento and Radio Disney playing his songs right out of the box, Yankovic has reached a pinnacle of success and longevity most artists can only imagine. Alfred Yankovic was born in Lynwood, California on October 23, 1959. Seven years later, his parents bought him an accordion for his birthday.

A lot of people would have. But thank you for always reaching out and kicking me in the butt when I needed it. You are the reason I was able to finish my thesis. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. To Michael Phillips, thank you. You taught me not only how to devise a show, but you made it a point to teach me how to support myself as I write and tour shows in the future. You showed me the best spots to hang posters, the tedium of applying, and the importance of reaching out to fellow artists, among so much more. I am happy to call you not just my director or professor, but my friend as well. To Phoebe Thomspson, thank you for being my creative partner, and for hearing all my songs and ideas before rehearsals when I was too scared to show it to Michael. You were so patient and taught me so much during our process.

Instead, think of argumentation as a process of taking a stand, presenting reasons and evidence, and using logic to convince an audience. Why argue? We don’t always argue to win. Yes, you read that correctly.
