The majority of the residents are professional and business people employed in Columbus. Dublin Jerome High School is a four-year high school, with an enrollment of 1,580 students in grades 9-12. This 2015-16 school year is the twelfth year for DJHS, which anticipates a graduating class of 370 students. Dublin Jerome is fully accredited by both the State of Ohio Department of Education and North Central Association of Secondary Schools and Colleges. Jerome High School has 120 certificated staff. Of these, 90 have a master’s degree. Twenty-one units of credit are required for graduation. Specific requirements include 5 elective courses and the following: 4 units English 4 units Math 1/2 unit Health 1 unit Fine Arts 3 units Social Studies 3 units Science 1/2 unit Phys. Ed. Honors / Advanced Placement Honors opportunities are available in English I, II, III, College Composition I, College Composition II, Algebra II, Geometry, Precalculus, Spanish IV and V, Latin Poetry or Latin Literature, and Japanese IV. Advanced Placement courses are offered in English Language and Literature, Biology, Chemistry, Physics B and C, Physics 1, Environmental Science, Computer Science A, Statistics, Calculus AB and BC, United States History, European History, World History, and U.S. Government. Transcripts are noted accordingly. In 2015, 627 students at Dublin Jerome High School took 1,168 AP Exams, resulting in the following scores: 5 = 27% 4 = 31% 3 = 25% 2 =14% 1 = 3% IB Programme Dublin Jerome High School became an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) World School in February 2008. The IB Programme began at the start of the 2008-09 school year. The following IB courses are offered: Business and Management (1 year course), English HL (2 year course), Spanish B SL and HL (2 year course), French B SL and HL (2 year course), Spanish Ab Initio SL (2 year course), History of the Americas HL (2 year course), Psychology SL (1 year course), Philosophy HL (2 year course), Biology HL (2 year course), Chemistry SL (2 year course), Environmental Systems & Societies SL (2 year course), Physics HL (2 year course) Math HL (2 year course), Math SL (2 year course), Math Studies SL (2 year course), Visual Arts SL and HL (2 year courses), Music SL and HL (2 year courses), Theatre SL and HL (2 year courses.) IB Diploma students must also take Theory of Knowledge and Creativity Action and Service, which are both 2-year courses. Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate courses receive an additional 1.0 value. Grades of D+, or lower, do not receive the added point value. Beginning in 2015-16, College Credit Plus courses taught through Ohio State or Columbus State also receive an additional 1.0 value. Scholastic Recognition The Class of 2015 had 14 National Merit Finalists, 12 National Merit Commended Scholars, and 2 National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholars. Dublin Jerome High School does not release standardized test scores. Students must use the official reporting services of SAT/ACT.
