ANDAM Founded in 1989 by Nathalie Dufour, under the initiative of the French ministry of Culture and the DEFI, ANDAM (National Association for the Development of the Arts) seeks, FASHION AWARD in the words of its president M. Pierre Bergé, “to identify and support, through its awards, the emerging talents of 2014 contemporary designers and assure the role of Paris as a key fashion capital.”

After reviewing the applications received this year, the 25 members of the 2014 judges panel have selected the ANDAM finalists of ANDAM’s 25th edition. “I am thrilled to be presenting this year new selection of talents. Thanks to ANNOUNCES the ANDAM Fashion Award, one of them is bound to become a French company. This brand will become an ITS 2014 official actor of the prestigious Paris fashion scene, participating to its international leadership.” FINALISTS says Nathalie Dufour, director of ANDAM.

Thanks to the generous support of its thirteen private partners, the ANDAM Fashion Award will be able to grant this year’ two winners a total of 325K euros.($445K)

The 2014 ANDAM Fashion Award partners are: Fashion GPS, Pierre Bergé Yves Saint Laurent Foundation, Galeries Lafayette, Hudson’s Bay Company, Kering, Longchamp, LVMH, MAC Cosmetics, OTB, Swarovski, thecorner.com, Tomorrow Ltd, the house of Yves Saint Laurent.

The 2014 ANDAM Fashion Award will offer two different prizes : -The ANDAM Fashion Award («major award») of 250K euros ($342K) -The ANDAM First Collections Prize, of 75K euros ($103K)

The winners for both prizes will be elected by the 25 members of the judges panel on July 3rd 2014.

Etudes Studio Finalist ANDAM Fashion Award

Études is a studio based between Paris and New York, created in 2012 by French artists Aurélien Arbet and Jérémie Egry. Surpassing their personal project of designing, Etudes carries within energy of a collective that claims its multidiscipline from fashion to edition, through the artistic diretion. Constantly keeping up with the time, the collective Etudes has a contemporary view on what surrounds them and proposes a new lifestyle where Fashion meets Art. ANDAM FASHION AWARD 2014

Rad Hourani Finalist ANDAM Fashion Award

Canadian-born, Rad Hourani worked as a model scout before becoming a fashion stylist, photographer and video director, finally launching his own fashion label in 2007 in Paris. While his ready-to-wear unisex line RAD by Rad Hourani is showed in New York, his Unisex Haute Couture collection is presented in Paris. In January 2013, he became the first invited member by La Chambre Syndicale de La Haute Couture in Paris to design and show a Unisex Haute Couture collection in fashion history. Jean-Paul Lespagnard Finalist ANDAM Fashion Award

After studying visual arts and fashion design in Liege, Jean-Paul Lespagnard worked for Anna Sui and Annemie Verbeke. In 2008, he won two awards at the International Fashion Festival in Hyères (France), which led to the creation of a capsule collection for the French brand 1.2.3. He presented his first women’s ready-to-wear collection during Paris Fashion Week in March 2011. In 2014, he presented his ‘Till the drop’ exhibition at La Galerie des Galeries in Paris. Jean-Paul Lespagnard is also nominated for the International Woolmark Prize 2014/15. ANDAM FASHION AWARD 2014

Fausto Puglisi Finalist ANDAM Fashion Award

After collaborating with the creative team of photographer’s David Lachapelle and working for celebrities dressing in New York and Los Angeles, Fausto Puglisi did consulting for various fashion houses such as Blumarine and Versace. In 2010, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana helped him launch his own label, selected for their concept store Spiga2. In September 2012 he was named artistic director of Emanuel Ungaro. Steven Tai Finalist ANDAM Fashion Award

Having graduated from the University of British Columbia (Vancouver) as a Bachelor of Commerce and subsequently a Bachelor of Arts at Central Saint Martins (London), Steven Tai honed his skills as a designer for a variety of companies including Hussein Chalayan, Bless, Viktor&Rolf, Damir Doma and Stella McCartney. In April 2012, he won the Chloé Award at the International Fashion Festival in Hyères and then presented his first collection in February 2013 in Paris. Iris Van Herpen Finalist ANDAM Fashion Award

After graduating in 2006 from the Art Institute of Arnhem ArtEZ, Iris Van Herpen started by working for Alexander McQueen in London and went on to present her first collection in 2007 in Amsterdam. Thanks to her cutting-edge approach to creation, she integrated the official calendar of France’s Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture in 2011. In March 2013, she launched her first ready-to-wear collection during Paris Fashion Week ANDAM FASHION AWARD 2014

Yiqing Yin Finalist ANDAM Fashion Award

Graduated from the ENSAD decorative arts school in Paris in September 2009, Yiqing Yin won the City of Paris Grand Prix de la Création the same year. In June 2011, she is the ANDAM First Collection Prize winner and enters Paris Haute Couture official calendar as « invited member » six month later. Tomorrow London Ltd, the London, Paris, Milan based distribution showroom, a privileged commercial and strategic mentorship. The winner will show in Paris and Milan showrooms and Tomorrow will appoint a Brand Support Sales Manager to promote and sell the collection alongside the Designer team.

The 25 members of the judges panel will meet again on July 3th to select the winner of the 2014 ANDAM Fashion Award, on both creative and business potentials. At that meeting, the 10 finalists will be given the opportunity to present their project to the judges panel. After deliberation, the winners will be chosen by simple majority vote.

Coperni Finalist First Collections Prize

Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant met in 2009 in their fashion school, Mod’Art International, in Paris whereSébastien is learning fashion design whereas Arnaud studies fashion business. Their collaboration will enable many rewards, among them the 1st Prize PODIUM Young Stylist 2009 & 1st Prize Mod’Art International 2010. After experiences in France, United States and China, Sébastien decides to create COPERNI FEMME in 2013 with Arnaud’s support who pursues simultaneously his path at Balenciaga. Graduated from New York’s Parsons School of Design, Marie-Christine Statz worked as Assistant Designer at Narciso Rodriguez and Diane Von Furstenberg. In 2009, she moved to Paris to receive a special qualification in Haute Couture at Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne. Monographie Finalist First Collections Prize

After studying at ESMOD Paris, Aude Castéja began her carrier as a press agent at Karla Otto London. She moved to Paris in 2010 to work as collection assistant at Céline. After various commercial experiences for Bouchra Jarrar and Michel Klein, she launched her own brand Monographie and presented her first SS2014 collection at the Designers Apartment in Paris.
