Youngsters Set to Follow in the Footsteps of Jenny Jones on UK Dry Ski Slopes Submitted by: Lucre Marketing Ltd Thursday, 20 February 2014 Dorset Snowsport Centre at Parkdean’s Warmwell Holiday Park has seen a surge in snowboard and Snowflex slope enquiries, following the recent success of British snowboard champion Jenny Jones. Having started her snowboarding career on a dry-ski slope in Bristol, at 16 years old, the bronze medal winner has proven to youngsters across the UK that you don’t necessarily have to travel abroad to find or refine your sporting skills. Following this, the phones at Snowflex Ski Slope at Warmwell Holiday Park in Weymouth have been ringing off the hook with budding snowboarding and ski enthusiasts wanting to follow in Jenny’s footsteps. Kristian Carr, Centre Manager at Dorset Snowboard Centre, said: "It's fantastic to see icons like Jenny Jones having such a positive impact on snow sports. Here at Dorset Snowsport Centre, we’re always looking for new ways to get youngsters involved in skiing and snowboarding and we offer a range of activities from hourly lessons to week long breaks to help people find their feet. "Jenny has done a great job of proving you don’t need access to real snow to get into a sport like snowboarding. Following this, not only are ski slope bookings being made far earlier this year but we’ve already seen skiing lessons for adults and children double whereas snowboarding is proving increasingly popular amongst teenagers. We look forward to welcoming lots of new and familiar faces to our centre this spring and we hope to spot some of our future sporting stars getting their practice in!" With short breaks available at Warmwell Holiday Park in Dorset from just £169 and seven night breaks available from just £259, those wanting to get a slice of the dry slope action can get plenty of practice at a great price. Visitors can also benefit from the park’s comfortable woodland lodges, free entertainment and extensive range of facilities such as fishing lakes, fitness suites and restaurants during their stay. Those not staying on the holiday park, or simply looking for a more subtle start in the sport, can also make the most of a range of activities including skiing and snowboarding lessons, recreational skiing and snowboarding and Swiss Bobbing. Lessons start from as little as £10 for a child’s half hour session* and residents at Warmwell Holiday Park will also benefit from reduced prices. Ringo, a fun and exciting activity that allows you to take to the slopes in a giant runner ring, is also available for those looking to simply enjoy the great outdoors and the speed of the slopes in different way. Follow in the footsteps of Jenny with this exciting break idea: Stay in a two bedroom lodge at Warmwell Holiday Park (sleeps 4-6) for a seven night break commencing 21st March from just £339 enjoying a veranda, double glazing and heating throughout. During your week, take advantage of the thrill-seeking 110m Snowflex ski slope but don’t forget to make the most of the roller Page 1 rink, bike hire service and indoor swimming pool with flume and wave machines too. Based in the stunning Jurassic Coastline of Weymouth, there’s also plenty to see in the surrounding area including Weymouth’s Georgian seafront, Lulworth Cove and Monkey World.
