NATIONAL ENVIRONMENT MANAGEMENT COUNCIL (NEMC) NOTICE TO COLLECT APPROVED AND SIGNED ENVIRONMENTAL CERTIFICATES Section 81 of the Environment Management Act, 2004 stipulates that any person, being a proponent or a developer of a project or undertaking of a type specified in Third Schedule, to which Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is required to be made by the law governing such project or undertaking or in the absence of such law, by regulation made by the Minister, shall undertake or cause to be undertaken, at his own cost an environmental impact assessment study. The Environmental Management Act, (2004) requires also that upon completion of the review of the report, the National Environment Management Council (NEMC) shall submit recommendations to the Minister for approval and issuance of certificate. The approved and signed certificates are returned to NEMC to formalize their registration into the database before handing over to the Developers. Therefore, the National Environment Management Council (NEMC) is inviting proponents/developers to collect their approved and signed certificates in the categories of Environmental Impact Assessment, Environmental Audit, Variation and Transfer of Certificates, as well as Provisional Environmental Clearance. Air Tanzania (The Wings of the Kilimanjaro) also becomes the latest member of Airbus aircraft operators. Representatives from the airline as well as officials from the United Republic of Tanzania Government alongside executives from the A220 program celebrated the aircraft handover at the A220 Mirabel assembly line. “The A220 unrivalled passenger comfort combined with its remarkable performance and economics will be an excellent asset to further develop Air Tanzania’s network,” said Tito Kasambala, Acting CEO, Tanzanian Government Flight Agency (TGFA). The A220 will allow Air Tanzania to further develop its domestic and regional market as well as open new routes to India and the Middle East from its home base Dar es Salaam. “With the addition of the A220 in our fleet we are confident that we will expand our footprint in the growing African markets and beyond, as we unlock additional routes and regain our position as a key player in the African air transport market,” added Ladislaus Matindi, Managing Director & CEO, Air Tanzania Company Limited. Air Tanzania becomes the fifth airline globally with an A220 family aircraft. “After Europe, Asia and America, we are proud to see the A220 fly now also on the African continent and in Air Tanzania’s livery. Appointment of Commissioner 5. Regulations An Act to provide for the Dissolution of the Central African Airways Corporation, the Replacement of the Higher Authority and the operation of Air Malawi as the National Airline of Malawi ENACTED by the Parliament of Malawi 1. This Act may be cited as the National Airline Short title Act, 1967. 2. In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires- Interpreta- tion " Air Malawi " means Air Malawi Limited, a company incorporated in Malawi under the Companies Ordinance; Cap. 169 " the Corporation" means the Central African Airways Corporation established under the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland (Dissolution) Order in Council, 1963; G.N.273 of 1963 -- 2 National Airline " the Higher Authority" means the Higher Authority for Civil Air Transport constituted by the said Order in Council.
