Additional information received by email 23/02/2021

• In which courses (taught in English) can NOVA IMS students enroll? 1. For courses in general students may check the PLUSonline course catalogue https://online.uni-salzburg.at/plus_online/webnav.ini to find courses of interest in. 2. A list of courses taught in English as of 2020/2021 is linked here: https://www.uni- salzburg.at/index.php?id=207174&L=1&MP=207174-207181 3. As the course programme for the academic year 2021/2022 won’t be published before next August 2021, we always suggest future exchange students to consult the current course catalogue, as courses are always offered similar every academic year. Just special topics might change, but the course will stay – more or less – the same. 4. In special cases BA students may also take part in MA courses, if they can’t find English taught courses in BA and if got accepted by the teacher(s) and if agreed on by home coordinators.

• Are they allowed to choose courses from different departments or they can only select courses from the Faculty /Department to which they are nominated?

Exchange students can take courses at different faculty/departments, if they fulfill language and academic requirements. This means that they are welcome to take as many courses as possible from all faculties, departments, etc., if allowed by the sending coordinators.

• If yes, what are the rules? Normal course registration via PLUSonline student management system. Special course attendance to be decided by the lecturer her-/himself.

Our university does not require a special language proficiency certificate! But we ask the program coordinators to advise their Erasmus candidates that at Salzburg University the language of instruction is German and to select students, who already speak some German, or – if not – some that speak properly English! Our university offers a couple of courses taught in English and teachers are willing to prepare special exams for exchange students in English, but not knowing neither German nor English, can’t be good for student’s study success.

For more support in academic matters, your students are welcome to contact the Erasmus Departmental Coordinator ([email protected] / office responsible CC) or me ([email protected]) for further questions regarding administrative matters.
