Affiliation Policy – Angabe der institutionellen Zuordnung bei Publikationen und For- schungsleistungen. 1. Einleitung Wissenschaftliche Publikationen und Forschungsleistungen sind Schlüsselindikatoren für das Leis- tungsspektrum der Paris-Lodron-Universität Salzburg (PLUS). Der wissenschaftliche Erfolg von For- scherInnen bzw. Universitäten wird im nationalen und internationalen Wissenschaftsdiskurs primär anhand des Publikationsoutputs in Fachorganen (Zeitschriften, monographische Werke, sowie Ta- gungs- und Kongressberichte) bewertet. Leistungsvergleiche zwischen wissenschaftlichen Instituti- onen basieren daher vielfach auf den ihnen zugeordneten Publikationsdaten. Deshalb ist es wichtig, dass Publikationen von ForscherInnen der PLUS eindeutig und korrekt so- wohl der/dem UrheberIn als auch der zugehörigen Institution (also der PLUS) zugeordnet werden können. Nur so wird die Summe der individuellen Forschungsleistungen auf Institutionsebene quan- tifizierbar. Um dies zu erreichen, ist eine standardisierte Affiliationsbezeichnung in deutscher und englischer Sprache, sowie eine einheitliche Verwendung des eigenen Namens unabdingbar. Die standardisierte Bezeichnung der PLUS ist daher im gesamten Publikationsprozess sowie überall dort, wo die eigene Forschungsstätte zu bezeichnen ist (z.B. bei Vorträgen, Kongressen, For- schungsanträgen etc.), zu verwenden. 2. Geltungsbereich Die standardisierte Affiliationsbezeichnung der PLUS gilt für das gesamte wissenschaftliche und nichtwissenschaftliche Personal, Studierende, sowie für alle GastwissenschaftlerInnen, die im Rah- men ihres Aufenthaltes an der Paris-Lodron-Universität Salzburg forschen und publizieren. 3. Universitätsname und Abkürzung Die genaue Bezeichnung der Universität bei Publikationen und Forschungsleistungen lautet – sofern kein Akronym verlangt – wird, wie folgt: Deutsche Variante Universität Salzburg Englische Variante University of Salzburg Ist neben dem Universitätsnamen noch ein Akronym erforderlich, ist folgende Bezeichnung zu ver- wenden: Deutsche Variante Paris-Lodron-Universität Salzburg (PLUS) Englische Variante Paris-Lodron-University of Salzburg (PLUS) Die offizielle Abkürzung des Universitätsnamens lautet PLUS (Paris-Lodron-Universität Salzburg). Bei der ersten Nennung hat der Universitätsname in vollständig ausgeschriebener Weise zu erfol- gen, dahinter in Klammer die Abkürzung (PLUS). In weiterer Folge kann dann die Abkürzung PLUS angeführt werden. Die Abkürzung wird immer in Großbuchstaben geschrieben. Mitteilungsblatt 27. Februar 2019 Seite 2 3.1. Angabe von Fachbereich, Schwerpunkt und Besonderer Einrichtung Bei der Angabe der Universitätsbezeichnung ist eine vorgegebene Reihenfolge einzuhalten. An ers- ter Stelle ist der vollständige Universitätsname (siehe Punkt 3.) zu nennen. Laut Organisationsplan sind wissenschaftliche MitarbeiterInnen einem Fachbereich oder der School of Education zuzuord- nen, darum ist an zweiter Stelle immer der Fachbereich oder die School of Education anzuführen. An dritter Stelle kann die Zuordnung zu einem Schwerpunkt bzw. einer Besonderen Einrichtung angeführt werden, wodurch die Leistungen beiden Organisationseinheiten zugeordnet werden. Eine Nennung von Arbeitsgruppen, Abteilungen, Projekten etc. ist nicht möglich. Alle Angaben (Fachbereich/Schwerpunkt/Besondere Einrichtung) haben gemäß dem Organisati- onsplan der PLUS (siehe www.uni-salzburg.at/organisationsplan) zu erfolgen. 3.2. Umgang mit Umlauten und ß Bei der deutschen Bezeichnung werden Umlaute belassen. Bei der englischen Variante bitte diese als a, o, u zu schreiben,1 ein ß ist mit ss zu schreiben. 3.3. Multiple institutionelle Zuordnungen Liegen bei einer Person multiple institutionelle Zuordnungen vor (beispielsweise gehört die Person neben der PLUS noch einer weiteren Universität, Einrichtung oder einem Privatunternehmen an), so sind sämtliche Affiliations in alphabetischer Reihenfolge entsprechend zu nennen. 4. Empfehlungen für WissenschaftlerInnen Um die Auffindbarkeit und Zuordnung der eigenen Publikationen zu verbessern, rät die PLUS allen WissenschaftlerInnen zu einer standardisierten Verwendung des eigenen Namens. Die PLUS ist seit November 2018 institutionelles Mitglied von ORCID und empfiehlt Wissenschaft- lerInnen, sich eine Open Researcher and Contributer ID (ORCID) anzulegen und diesen Identifier im Wissenschaftsalltag zu nutzen. Es handelt sich dabei um einen alphanumerischen Code, der es ermöglicht, WissenschaftlerInnen eindeutig zu identifizieren und ihre Publikationsleistungen klar zu- zuordnen. Durch Eingabe in das entsprechende Formularfeld („Also known as“, „Other Names“ etc.) bietet dieses Autorenidentifikationssystem die Möglichkeit, in einem Profil unterschiedliche Varian- ten eines Namens zusammenzuführen. Das Anlegen einer Open Researcher and Contributer ID erfolgt unter www.orcid.org und ist kosten- los. ORCID erfreut sich einer großen Anwendung und auch manche Fördergeber fordern bei Pro- jekten diese ID verpflichtend für Antragstellungen ein. 5. Affiliation – Angabe der institutionellen Zuordnung bei Publikationen und Forschungs- leistungen Die nachfolgenden Bezeichnungen beziehen sich auf den Organisationsplan (Fassung 2018-2). Die- ser unterliegt möglichen Änderungen, welche unter www.uni-salzburg.at/organisationsplan einzuse- hen sind. Bei Änderungen ist die Affiliation dahingehend anzupassen. Auf Grund der verschiedenen möglichen Kombinationen von Fachbereichen und Anschriften bei der Affiliation von Schwerpunkten und Besonderen Einrichtungen sind diese nur exemplarisch ange- führt.     Contributors Marina A. Adler is Professor of Sociology and Director of Graduate Studies at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, USA, where she has been on the faculty since 1990. She is also an affiliate faculty member of the Gender, Women’s and Sexuality Studies Program, the School of Public Policy, and the Language, Literacy and Culture Program. Her research areas include cross-national gender, work, and family intersections, comparative social and family policies, and the care practices of fathers. Gunnar Andersson is Professor of Demography at Stockholm University and Head of the Stockholm University Demography Unit. He coordinates research projects on Swedish and Nordic register-based demographic research, and is involved in research programmes that focus on family policies and fertility, ageing, migrant trajectories, and residential segregation. Loretta Baldassar is Professor in the Discipline Group of Anthropology and Sociology at the University of Western Australia, and is Director of the University of Western Australia Social Care and Social Ageing Living Lab. She has published extensively on migration, with a particular focus on families and caregiving. Baldassar is Vice President of the International Sociological Association Migration Research Committee, and a regional editor for the journal Global Networks. This article provides an overview of multicultural and developmental curricula worldwide with an emphasis on “Global Studies” (GS) curricula such as the recently- founded GS Master’s curriculum at Graz University, Austria. Based on an in-depth comparison, practical and implementable suggestions are made about how to improve such curricula in order to ensure the highest and globally compatible academic quality.     Chapter 13 Austria: A Rapidly Expanding Higher Education Sector 13.1 Education System Between 2002 and 2011, the number of Austrians in tertiary education increased by 55 %. (Eurostat 2014 ) 1 Austrian universities receive more students each year. This is in line with govern- ment policy to have a well-educated population, but it also leads to a high drop-out rate and discussion about the future of the university system. In the last decade, Austria’s tertiary education participation has gone from well below the EU-27 aver- age to well above this average (Eurostat 2014 ; BMUKK 2013a ) 2 One of the reactions to this development is the slow rise of honors programs in higher education in recent years. This is a logical step in the Austrian context, after the development of extensive programs and projects for talented and gifted children in primary and secondary education in earlier years. Austria – like Germany – is a federal republic consisting of Bundesländer (Box 13.1 ), but educational matters are signifi cantly more in federal hands than in Germany. While primary and secondary education programs are administered by the Bundesländer, tertiary education is the responsibility of the federal government. The education system is quite stable, as federal legislation on education can only be amended or introduced with a two-thirds majority in parliament (Box 13.2 ). Differentiat ion is made early in the Austrian school system. Primary level is 4 years from age 6. Lower secondary school starts around age 10, also lasts 4 years, and is divided in four different levels.
