Page 2 October/November 2019 Rowde Village News Editorial Contents Welcome to the October/November edition of the October/November 2019 Rowde Village News and I hope you enjoy reading it. Rowde all about it (pages 4 & 5) News and views This issue we have the usual excellent reports from village organisations from our schools, clubs and societies and also some very good articles. Eating Out (page 7) There’s a great fun column on page 12 with Rowdey Cow News (page 8) jokes and observations from the brilliant Tommy Rowdeford School (page 10) Cooper. I once again found myself laughing as I was typing it! Rowde Primary Academy (page 11) There is a very important Police report on knife Charity Presentation (page 11) crime on pages 18 and 19. Worth a read! Great to hear about the efforts of many of our Fun Column & Photo Fun (page 12) villagers to raise a wonderful amount of money Rowde Parish Council (pages 14 to 16) for charity recently. Read about it on page 11. Please not that the date of the VE Celebrations Police Report - Knife Crime (pages 18 & 19) meeting has been changed from 1st to 8th The St Matthew’s Pages (pages 20 to 22) October. For details see page 47. inc. Church Rotas and details of Services and Events And what a brilliant idea it is to become a volunteer Schoolreader! I am already thinking News from Hft (page 23) about it myself. Read all about it on page 55. Local News (pages 28 to 31) I’m sorry to see that no Village shop report has been submitted this time. I would hate to see us Short Stories (page 41) lose our community shop so please support it by VE Celebrations (page 47) popping in and buying a few thing on a regular or semi-regular basis. Letters (page 49) I must conclude though by saying that this FREE Classified Ads (page 50) issue of the RVN has been particularly and frustratingly difficult to produce with so many Sudoku (page 51) submissions arriving very late or not arriving at Quick Reference List of Advertisers (page 52) all. Can I therefore appeal to all contributors to try to get their articles and adverts in to us by the Quick Reference Contacts and Village Guide (page 53) 15th of every second month. April/May 2020 This dreadful Coronavirus outbreak is affecting us Rowde all about it (page 4) News and views from all in the village and as I write this I am just one village organisations week into 12 weeks self isolation myself. This is so Coronavirus Information (pages 5, 17 & 21) very frustrating to me as it prevents me from being a volunteer in the village and also means I cannot Rowde Book Club (page 7) continue my support work at Hft. As all events in Rowdey Cow News (pages 8 to 10) the village have been cancelled or postponed, you Fun Column & Photo Fun (page 11) will find that this issue may be a bit different from the usual but I do hope it is informative and that Rowdeford School (page 12) you still enjoy reading it. Rowde Primary Academy (page 13) Firstly I must say that, with things changing so fast, Rowde Parish Council (pages 14 to 17) any Coronavirus related information published in News from Hft (pages 18 & 19) this issue is only correct at time of going to press and that you should check with the PC Facebook The St Matthew’s Pages (pages 20 to 22) page or [email protected] or Tel inc.
