SHARON NEEDLES:

Michael Bustamante: How did you become involved with Ultimate Miami Drag Queen? Sharon Needles: Honestly, I have no idea! I am far too stupid to coordinate my tours myself! Like Amanda Lepore says, "I just show up all dolled up, dance to my thing, get paid and I'm out!"

MB: What advice do you have for the Ultimate Miami Drag Queen finalists? SN: Be entertaining, be unique, and pay me off to win!

MB: Tell us about some of your most memorable experiences in Miami. SN: Well there was that one time I thought I had AIDS, and my roommate forced me to drink only out of the mugs marked with an "R." Oh, wait, that was a Golden Girls episode…

MB: Which queen is your favorite this season of RuPaul's Drag Race, and why? SN: Trinity the Tuck Taylor. She's got it all! She's pretty, but in an alien way, she loves plastic sur- gery and her fashion choices are a mix of high fashion and questionable dancer costumes. And she's funny! Oh, and mean!

MB: What did you think of the roast of Michelle Visage? I can't help but feel it was inspired by your snatch game impersonation. SN: I'm telling you, I invented the "I hate green" storyboard!

MB: Which classic movie star, if any, have you found inspiring? SN: From Judy Garland to Vincent Price. If you can do your job, and do it well drunk, you're my hero.

MB: What do you think you would be doing, career-wise, if you were not a performer? SN: Housewife! And I'm still considering a ca- reer change!

MB: What projects are you currently working on? SN: My third record is only a few months from its release. It's my darkest sound yet! And of course, touring the world, cause they don't get sick of me... fools!

MB: Is there anything else you would like to share with Wire Magazine readers? SN: I can't wait to be in sunny Miami. And I hope Rubber Child brings me drugs! PHOTO CREDIT: © DEPOSITPHOTOS.COM | KAVRAMM PHOTO CREDIT:

t's been almost a year and a half since the international phenomenon known as One Di- rection pause on their collective careers to chase down separate solo projects. This is nothing new for boy bands, but it usually signals the beginning of the end. Before their hiatus even started, one band mate officially called it quits while the rest kept releasing solo material and showing no signs of a reunion anytime soon. Three members in particular – Harry, Niall & Liam – recently released their latest projects within a few days of each other; and unlike the brain-numbing girl-nip that they used to pump across the airwaves, they're pret- ty good.

Zayn Malik was the first member to cut the cord and fly solo under the moniker ZAYN, releasing his debut album, Mind of Mine, in March of 2016. Rather than ride the coattails of his for- mer life, ZAYN shed his boy band persona for a darker, grittier version of himself. Laced with elements of R&B, slow jams and electronica, the collection marked Zayn's official declara- tion of independence.
