Having daily contact with the people of Beadle County were her most enjoyable moments as Treasurer. Her least favorite part of the job was doing public speaking. Bonnie said it’s ‘just not her thing!’ Her fondest memories of her time in office were “too many to mention”. She feels her major accomplishment has been serving the people of Beadle County to the best of her ability and in a pleasant manner.

She enjoys spending time with her dog, cat, and two horses. Reading is also a love of hers—romances, mysteries, westerns, and anything else that is interesting.

With retirement comes time to do things that have been put on hold for awhile. Bonnie plans to spend the winter going through closets, drawers, etc.; come Spring she plans to spend more time with her children and grandchildren. Bonnie and her husband, Lloyd E. Freese, have children and grandchildren in Huron, Sioux Falls, Wisconsin, and Oklahoma.
