What Participants had to say about the CSUS Asian Cultural Exchange Program...

“Visiting China was an experience of a lifetime that was eye-opening and fun everyday… I found myself constantly soaking up the overflowing culture and being continuously excited by all the range of activities.... Every experience that you have is with your friends, which creates irreplaceable memories and really bonds you with people that you otherwise may not get to know.” Niyati Narang, class of 2016

“The China trip was one of the most memorable experiences of my entire life. The ability to go places and do things totally inconceivable in a regular travel situation was incredible… I know that I got closer to everyone on the trip; from climbing the Great Wall together, running around the outer reaches of the Forbidden City, drinking tea and chatting in a teahouse, and even long conversations on bus rides.” George Hulsey, class of 2015

“The China trip was undoubtably the high point of my Crystal experience during my freshman year…whether it was learning how to make noodles in the shadow of the Great Wall, trekking through the lush mountains of Guilin, or taking pictures on the Bund in the Shanghai night, the trip allowed our group to experience Chinese culture through attractions, food, language, history, and so much more.” Peter Dicioccio, class of 2020

*…our trip was made really memorable by the more unique experiences we had, including eating scorpions (both deep- fried and live), teaching endearing elementary-age migrant school children, and enjoying a sneak peek into the daily lives of our homestay buddies. There's definitely no classroom replacement for such a vibrant, textured, eye-opening adventure--this trip is not to be missed!” Amy Zhang, class of 2019
