Introduction A selected group of SUPSI students was invited by the Science and Technology Office (Swissnex) in Seoul to participate to the Swiss-Korean Innovation Week to learn about the technology ecosystem in Korea. The students who participated to this amazing opportunity are: Leyla Tawfik (Interaction Designer), Reda Bousbah (Software Developer) and Ramona Waser (Business Administrator), the students were also accompanied by Dr. Serena Cangiano Coordinator of the Master of Advanced Studies in Interaction Design and Responsible of FabLab SUPSI. The SUPSI team started with a meeting with Professor Kyung-Min Kim Co-Founder and Adviser of the company Urban Hybrid. During the meeting Kyung-Min Kim shared the work that is company is doing to sustain the development of local communities in Korea through fair development and the creation of co- working spaces. Urban Hybrid is a social venture involving the creation of spaces where designers and manufacturers can work together to generate social impact. Within such deformational regime the lithological units are stretched and elongated along the shear direction, locally loosing their lateral continuity. The missing continuity of marker horizons or diagnostic rocktypes challenges the large-scale geological mapping and sometimes causes misleading regional interpretations. Here, we present detailed geological maps and profiles (scale 1:10’000) along the shear zone of the lower boundary of Adula unit, the largest High-Pressure nappe of the Central Alps. Overall, the lithological units along this shear zone show a sub-horizontal penetrative foliation (at amphibolite metamorphic facies) parallel to the lithological contacts that dip gently E to the SE. On the foliation plane the mineral and stretching lineation and the fold axis are oriented almost N-S independently on the orientation of the schistosity.

    Press Release SUPSI intensifies its collaboration with CSEM Strengthening Swiss excellence in photovoltaic technology Neuchâtel–Canobbio, 15th March 2017 – SUPSI and CSEM have decided to expand their collaboration in photovoltaic-related activities. With this intensified cooperation, the two Swiss R&D institutes intend to reinforce and integrate their competencies in research, development and testing with regard to PV modules and power plants. The goal is to respond to the increasing demand for innovative solar products and to the need for testing and accreditation of commercial solar systems, offering solutions right along the value chain of solar modules and power plants. Photovoltaic energy is spreading rapidly around the globe, with the number of installations of new power plants exceeding expectations every year. This growth is accompanied by both a demand for increased reliability, quality and lifetime of PV products, and by the need for new product development, both for the power market and for building integrated photovoltaic solutions. SUPSI and CSEM have therefore decided to intensify their collaboration to be able to offer a full range of services, from new product development to testing and accreditation of existing or new products or power plants. The considerable experience of SUPSI in the photovoltaic field focuses on new technology characteriza- tion, PV modules and system quality monitoring as well as on its verification through testing in the SUPSI PVLab, the only ISO 17025 accredited Swiss PV laboratory. CSEM’s expertise in the field of photovoltaics includes the design and product development of innovative module concepts and BIPV elements, and the modeling and simulation of PV systems.
