Casks are hand- selected and chosen for their exceptional quality and flavor, lending unique character to the rare, complex, incredibly smooth whiskies used for the Blue Label. JOHNNIE WALKER BLACK 4.5 ltr 500.00 One of the world’s most famous 12 year old blends, Johnnie Walker Black is a combination of about 40 whiskies, beautifully balanced. The nose is quite full, with suggestions of spice and treacle, as well as white pepper and a little citrus. Notice the rich palate and long finish that is fruity with hints of sultanas and mixed peels. Black Label has set the standard since 1909. CHIVAS REGAL 4.5 ltr 550.00 Chivas Regal is a world-famous Scotch blend which was first made in the early 20th century by the Chivas Brothers, whose company traces its roots back to 1801, with the opening of a grocery store in Aberdeen. Selling luxury food, coffee and spices, it wasn’t until post- US Prohibition that Chivas Regal 12 Year Old was first officially released. F. Paul Pacult, a leading expert on distilled spirits, described Chivas Regal 12 as “the blend for grown-ups”, awarding it an impressive 9 out of 10. A very refined blended whisky, with notes of herbs, honey and fruit, it is regularly praised by critics. This is a superb blend and a great value. BARTENDERBARTENDER FAVORITESFAVORITES RECOMMENDATIONS Knob Creek 7.95 Knob Creek Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is an established classic bourbon from Jim Beam. First created by Booker Noe, a father of the small batch movement, and introduced in 1992, it was named after the creek which flows near Abraham Lincoln’s childhood home. Talkiser 25 yr 25.00 Talisker, one of the most remote distilleries in the world, is located on the rugged Isle of Skye and boasts a colorful history dating back to 1830. Attacked by the local clergy, praised by Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson and set back by a still-room fire in 1960, Talisker has endured and today produces some of the smoothest and character full malts in Scotland, with an aroma and taste reminiscent of the wild and stormy Isle. Hellyers Road 18.00 Hellyers Road Single Malt is distilled from Tasmanian grown malted barley, yeast and pure Roaring Forties rainwater (produced by the most westerly - Roaring Forties - winds that circle Earth’s southern latitudes), with no artificial color or chilled filtration. Yamazaki 18.00 This single malt whisky from Suntory’s Yamazaki distillery in Japan, is jam- packed with juicy red berry notes, a result of the whisky being matured in Bordeaux wine casks and Sherry casks. It also features malt matured in Mizunara casks, adding subtle oak notes to a vanilla finish that lingers with a final accent of spicy sweet cinnamon. AWARD-WINNERS Glenkinchie 8.95 Known as “The Edinburgh Malt”, this 12 yr. old is produced just fifteen miles away from the city at a distillery founded in 1825 by brothers John and George Rate. The palate is fruity with a medium length fresh tasting finish. - Winner Best Lowland Single Malt – 2014 World Whiskies Awards - Gold Lowland up to 12 yrs. – 2014 The Scotch Whisky Masters Talkiser 10 yr 8.95 A classic whisky from the Isle of Skye and always highly rated, this whisky is known for its full bodied spicy flavors with hints of tangy peat. - Gold Distillers’ Single Malts 12 yrs. and under – 2014 Intl. It is also unusual for being triple distilled and having the lowest proof upon entering the barrel, where it matures for at least six years. A must-have Kentucky bourbon with touches of espresso, toasty oak and a little smoke. Basil Hayden 12.00 An artfully aged 8 yr. old small batch bourbon named for Jim Beam’s historic Master Distiller, Basil Hayden Sr. who, in 1796, created a bourbon with an added mix of small grains for added spice to complement the smoothness of the corn in the standard recipe. Rittenhouse Rye 9.00 Produced in the tradition of the classic Pennsylvania or “Monongahela” rye whiskys, Rittenhouse is a popular rye for sophisticated whisky drinkers who appreciate classic styles. Likewise, it is a favorite of mixologists for its robust flavors that are perfect for cocktails. Whistle Pig Rye 18.00 Master Distiller Dave Pickerell sought to make the best rye whiskey in the world when he created Whistle Pig, which is distilled in Canada from 100 percent Canadian rye grain, but bottled in Vermont, USA. It embodies the perfect combination of proof, purity and age.

  • South-Florida-Alcohol-Liquor-Licensing-A-Snapshot.Pdf
South Florida Alcohol and Liquor Licensing – A Snapshot By Valerie L. Haber, Miami Alcohol Law and Food Law Attorney Many clients come to GrayRobinson’s Alcohol Law Group with the misconception that getting a beer and wine license, or liquor license in South Florida, (including the City of Miami, Miami Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Broward County or Palm Beach County,) will be a straightforward process. Before reaching out to us, these clients often find themselves stuck in a holding pattern with state or local agencies, which oftentimes have convoluted and burdensome requirements that must be met before a state alcohol license can be issued. Complicating matters further, local municipal requirements vary greatly. For example, the City of Miami Beach, which includes South Beach, requires that you obtain a Certificate of Use and Business Tax Receipt before you can apply for your state alcohol beverage license. The City of Miami, which includes downtown Miami, the Design District, Wynwood, Coconut Grove, and the Calle Ocho area, requires that multiple local inspections be performed before their zoning department will sign off on a state alcohol beverage application. Navigating these complexities can be tough, but completely manageable once you understand important aspects of the licensing process. Florida Liquor License and Beer and Wine License Types: As a starting point, if you are a new business in South Florida wanting to sell alcohol beverages, including beer, wine, or spirits, you need to determine what type of alcohol or liquor license is appropriate for your intended operations. There are multiple Florida alcohol license types available to you through the Florida Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco (the “DABT”), including: Beer and wine for on-premise consumption (2COP license): A “2COP” license allows the licensee to sell beer and wine for on-premise consumption.

Press kit 90th Anniversary *L’art japonais du whisky depuis 1923 th 90 ANNIVERSARY OF SUNTORY WHISKY e Art of Japanese Whisky, an art of heritage and innovation On the road to its centennial, the House of Suntory Whisky marks its 90th anniversary of whisky making. Inspired by heritage and innovation, this richly experienced House dared to make Japanese Whisky a reality by tirelessly reinventing whisky to create a true form of art. It has been 90 years since founding father, Shinjiro Torii, built the first whisky distillery in Yamazaki, Japan in 1923, where this new “art of whisky making” was born. In 2012, Japanese whisky made another global breakthrough with Suntory being named Distiller of the Year for the third time in three years. For the past year, the global progress of Suntory Whisky has been nothing less than outstanding. To highlight, global shipments of e Yamazaki increased by 24% while e Hakushu increased by a remarkable 187%. None of this success has happened by chance. The same meticulous effort will be present throughout all of the ambitious projects to come in 2013. 1923 - 2013 Suntory Whisky, a legacy of three generations of innovators It all began with a man who dreamed of making a true Japanese Whisky to complement the Japanese palate. The visionary, Shinjiro Torii, established Japan’s first distillery in Yamazaki on the periphery of Kyoto. The quest was then handed to his son, Keizo Saji, who sought to create a unique taste and establish a second distillery in Hakushu, located deep within the forest of Japan’s Southern Alps.

  • The Whiskey Machine: Nanofactory-Based Replication of Fine Spirits and Other Alcohol-Based Beverages
The Whiskey Machine: Nanofactory-Based Replication of Fine Spirits and Other Alcohol-Based Beverages © 2016 Robert A. Freitas Jr. All Rights Reserved. Abstract. Specialized nanofactories will be able to manufacture specific products or classes of products very efficiently and inexpensively. This paper is the first serious scaling study of a nanofactory designed for the manufacture of a specific food product, in this case high-value-per- liter alcoholic beverages. The analysis indicates that a 6-kg desktop appliance called the Fine Spirits Synthesizer, aka. the “Whiskey Machine,” consuming 300 W of power for all atomically precise mechanosynthesis operations, along with a commercially available 59-kg 900 W cryogenic refrigerator, could produce one 750 ml bottle per hour of any fine spirit beverage for which the molecular recipe is precisely known at a manufacturing cost of about $0.36 per bottle, assuming no reduction in the current $0.07/kWh cost for industrial electricity. The appliance’s carbon footprint is a minuscule 0.3 gm CO2 emitted per bottle, more than 1000 times smaller than the 460 gm CO2 per bottle carbon footprint of conventional distillery operations today. The same desktop appliance can intake a tiny physical sample of any fine spirit beverage and produce a complete molecular recipe for that product in ~17 minutes of run time, consuming <25 W of power, at negligible additional cost.
