A: Yes Q: Does the airport really want Mode 1 signs? Most airports go with Mode 2 and I am not even sure if anybody makes Mode 1 anymore. A: The signs should be Mode 2. Q: Can excess excavated material be wasted on site? A: The Airport Owner will allow excess material to be placed on airport property or other location nearby. (Please see addendum documents for further details on requirements of placing this material on Airport property) Q: Is water available? A: There are multiple hydrants nearby to choose from. The City will allow Contractor to take water on an honor system basis for payment to the City. The Contractor should report to the City how many loads of water they took. Q: The company that applies the Thermoplastic Coal Tar requires all the paint to be removed in order for their material to properly adhere. I noticed there was no pay item for paint removal. Are you considering paint removal incidental to surface prep or the P-620? Normally there is a pay item for paint removal. A: A pay item for paint removal will be added. Please see addendum documents for further information. Q: I would like an official written answer to stop some confusion we have had regarding the DBE plan submittal, and if everyone is required to turn in a DBE plan then the wording in the bid docs should to be changed to reflect that. A: Please note this statement is TxDOT’s official position which overrides any discussion in the prebid meeting: “Only the apparent low bidder must have their DBE plan submitted by midnight of July 26, 2020 to be considered responsive.” Q. Does the engineer or project representative require a job trailer on the project site? A. No Q: Is a gate guard required for this project? A: No Q: Can you provide any details for the “P-101. Removal and disposal of existing stake-mounted runway threshold lighting fixture”? I don’t see a detail or description of the existing light fixture in the plans. A: Please see Plan Sheet 33. On each runway end, there are notes that read “Install L-867 junction can and splice new cabling into existing MIRL circuit and remove and dispose of Ex.

  • The Development of a Method for the Identification And
THE DEVELOPMENT OF A METHOD FOR THE IDENTIFICATION AND SELECTION OF PRESERVATION VALUES FOR THE PROTECTION OF WWII UNITED STATES ARMY AIRBASES IN TEXAS A Dissertation by MICHAEL ANTHONY BUNCH Submitted to the Office of Graduate and Professional Studies of Texas A&M University in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY Committee Chairman: Robert Warden Committee Members: Geoffrey Booth James Bradford David G. Woodcock Head of Department: Ward Wells December 2014 Major Subject: Architecture Copyright 2014 Michael Anthony Bunch ABSTRACT Currently no compendiums of values exist that systematically outline criteria needed to guide historical and cultural conservation of the remaining AAF bases in Texas. This study examines buildings previously considered mundane and expendable to provide guidance to preservationists so that they may assign historical and cultural value to WWII AAF bases in Texas. This study analyzes criteria that could be used to determine the value of remaining assets at Bryan AAB, Hearne AAB, and Carswell AFB in Texas. This project analyzes the prevailing international standards currently used with the intent of developing values and standards across major international preservation societies and organizations that may be applied to AAF bases in Texas. Next, the study develops a process of systematic evaluation that produces an Optimal Conservation Index (OCI). An OCI is derived when a project administrator evaluates the overall project to determine the genotype and phenotype configuration of specific components of the project. Four primary objectives and fourteen standards were developed to guide the preservation efforts following careful evaluation of word repetition counts using the Getty Institute compilation of international conservation statements.

Resource Teams, organized in partnership with the Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) Councils, Councils of Government, USDA-Rural Development, Community Builders with Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and County Extension Agents, are designed specifically for rural Texas communities and bring professionals with expertise in various areas of community development together to provide on-site assessments of individual communities. Resource Team assessment includes listening to the voices of all members of the community, recommending starting points for development that address the community’s specific needs, and providing long-term support for the achievement of community goals. The Resource Team’s visit creates a forum for rallying unity among the community’s citizens and its report gives communities a better position from which to recruit new businesses, retain existing businesses, and to become eligible for grants for community improvement. This report is unbiased and non-political; it has no preconceived outcomes and continues to be relevant regardless of changes in city government. In return for these services, the local community coordinates the Resource Team listening sessions and provides lodging and meal accommodations for team members during their four-day visit to the community.
