In order for the new review process to work correctly, we need to set a few guidelines Please visit the following web page to see the details of the new process: http://www.marathonmaniacs.com/how-to-upgrade-your-level/ http://www.marathonmaniacs.com 5 Mark and Sanjay Sean Amy Riley Sandra http://www.marathonmaniacs.com 6 Martha Ed Brian We now have chapters throughout the U.S. that are run by our Regional Ambassadors to help connect local runners together. The Main Maniacs decided to create an asylum dedicated to those who are Double Agents. In order to be assigned a Double Agent number you must have your dues paid and updated in both the MM and HF. Your name and e-mail address must match both clubs. Each day a program will run to generate new members. New gear is available for Double Agents as well as a whole new set of challenges as you climb peaks. For more information visit the Maniacs web site. Early Sunday morning yesterday, when 2008 edition of the Singapore Marathon was flagged off, the field Kenyans runners led from the start to finish to sweep the podium finish. It was a Kenya 1-2-3 finish for the men’s category. Marathon World Champion Luke Kibet showed his ‘class’ by setting a new course record, finishing in a time of 2:13:01 hour. It earned him US$35,000 richer in prize money by finishing first. Kibet ‘obliterated’ the old mark by a minute plus. The old record of 2:14:22 hour was set by last year winner Elijah Mbogo. His Kenyan compatriot Johnstone Chepkwony was second (2:15:12) and Amos Matui was third (2:15.15). Veteran Kenyan women marathoner Edith Masai won the women category in a time of 2:34.15, pocketing the US$35,000 in prize money. She finished well ahead of Russian Silovia Skvortsov who was second (2:37.10) while another Kenyan women runner Rose Chesire finished third (2:42.39). EMBARGOED UNTIL 1500 CET ABBOTT WORLD MARATHON MAJORS ANNOUNCES ABBOTTWMM WANDA AGE GROUP WORLD RANKING SYSTEM AND WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS • A global age group ranking system for marathon runners will launch September 2018 • AbbottWMM Wanda Age Group World Championships to be held in 2020 CHICAGO, Nov. 15, 2017 -- Abbott World Marathon Majors (AbbottWMM), the collective of the world’s six greatest marathons, and partners Abbott and Wanda Group announced today the creation of its first global age group marathon ranking system and age group world championships. The new AbbottWMM Wanda Age Group World Rankings will launch in September 2018 and the top-ranked age group athletes will qualify to participate in the AbbottWMM Wanda Age Group World Championships in the spring of 2020. The rankings will cover age groups for men and women from age 40 to 80+. For more than a decade AbbottWMM has celebrated the world’s best professional marathon runners and wheelchair athletes competing in the Tokyo, Boston, Virgin Money London, BMW BERLIN, Bank of America Chicago and TCS New York City Marathons, as well as at the IAAF World Championship and Olympic marathons. This celebration has been expanded through the addition in 2015 of the coveted Six Star Finisher medal for any participant who completes the ‘grand slam’ of events. This new initiative continues the efforts of AbbottWMM to partner with industry leaders to advance the sport of marathon running, which include a comprehensive IAAF partnership aimed at eradicating doping to expanding AbbottWMM events to additional locations across the world. “There has been huge growth in marathon age group running and now more than 125,000 runners aged 40+ participate in AbbottWMM races each year,” said Tim Hadzima, AbbottWMM general manager.

Vienna City Marathon 18. April 2010 run vienna – enjoy classic VIENNA CITY MARATHON PRESSE RELEASE Vienna, 16 February 2010 World Champion Luke Kibet returns to the Vienna City Marathon Austrian record holders Günther Weidlinger & Andrea Mayr aim for prestigious marks One world champion and the two national record holders will run the Vienna City Marathon on 18th April. After winning the race in 2007 and then taking the marathon gold medal at global stage in Osaka a couple of months later, Kenya’s Luke Kibet will now come back to Austria’s biggest and best quality running event. With Günther Weidlinger and Andrea Mayr the two Austrian record holders have also confirmed their participation. Organisers of the 27th edition of the Vienna City Marathon expect a field of up to 30,000 runners on 18th April. This will include races at shorter distances. Online entry for all events is still available at www.vienna- marathon.com . Sensational breakthrough for Kibet in 2007 Luke Kibet had staged a sensational breakthrough in 2007. First the Kenyan took the Vienna City Marathon, clocking 2:10:07 despite very warm weather in the final part of the race. At that time this had been his biggest success so far, but then Luke Kibet went on to even more glory: The Vienna Champion surprisingly dominated a field packed with world-class runners at the World Championships in Osaka. In brutally hot and humid conditions the Kenyan ran away from his rivals in the final 10 k. Crossing the line in 2:15:59 he had an advantage of well over a minute to second placed Mubarak Shami (Qatar).
