Living Heritage SELECT No. 2 | 2020 Porsche Magazine Living 2 | 2020 No. Heritage SELECT Editorial Zeitgeist reloaded Loving the past does not necessarily mean looking backwards. On the contrary – it can show you the way to the future. That is instantly visible in a Porsche. Its design is past and future combined. There are similar principles in the world of fashion – think about trends: it is said that they come and go. But they also return. And when they do, they bring a piece of coolness from back then into our present. Therefore, this SELECT edition lends a new look to the past Zeitgeist. The Porsche 917 gives the starting signal – a vehicle that not only made racing history but also left a lasting impression through its extraordinary motorsport designs. Such as the Salzburg design which inspired our 917 Salzburg Collection: an outfit for winners. Hans Herrmann and Richard Attwood, who sat in the cockpit at the legendary Le Mans victory in 1970, tell us what else is needed to win. Then we take a look at the 917 ‘Living Legend’; a design study created a few years ago. In the countdown to the Porsche Top 5 YouTube series, you can marvel at the most famous motorsport liveries on the 917. The 911 Targa 4S also breathes the air of the past. Already a design icon in itself, the Heritage Design Edition now brings the Zeitgeist of the 1950s and early 60s to the road.

Vitesse! Page 3 Foreword Motorsport essentially consists of three ingredients. First, you need a motor vehicle - which can be anything from a Formula 1 car to a lawn mower, or from a MotoGP motorcycle to a pocket bike. Second, you need a driver or rider to operate the vehicle, and finally, a place to go racing - a circuit. To most people this last ingredient is probably the least interesting. The number of books about famous racing drivers and cars, or great riders and their motorcycles, is far larger than the number of books about racing circuits. However, to me circuits are the most interesting aspect of motorsport, for two main reasons. First is their great diversity: in terms of shape, layout, length, difficulty, fame and many other factors, every circuit is different, and each has its own story to tell. Second, it is fascinating to see just how many circuits there are. Once you start looking, you can find them just about any- where. Finding lost circuits or discovering long-forgotten tracks is one of the most fun aspects of researching racing circuits. When looking for information about racing circuits online, I often found it frustrating that the available sources were not complete, and that they often lacked detail and accuracy. This is one of the reasons why I started my website www.wegcircuits.nl and why I made Rennen! Races! Vitesse! - a downloadable pdf-file that lists racing circuits of past and present in four European countries: the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Austria.

  • Renault Sport F1 Präsentiert Neues Formel 1-Triebwerk Für 2014
PRESSEMITTEILUNG Urdorf, 21.
