Gontar* Institute of Zoology, Russian Academy of Sciences, St. Petersburg, Russia *e-mail: [email protected] Received April 24, 2017; revised September 18, 2018; accepted November 27, 2018 Abstract—Five bryozoan species of the class Gymnolaemata and a single Plumatella emarginata species of the class Phylactolaemata are found in the Caspian Sea. The class Gymnolaemata is represented by bryozoans of the orders Ctenostomatida (Amathia caspia, Paludicella articulata, and Victorella pavida) and Cheilostoma- tida (Conopeum grimmi and Lapidosella ostroumovi). Two species (Conopeum grimmi and Amatia caspia) are Caspian endemics. Lapidosella ostroumovi was identified in the Caspian Sea for the first time. The systematic position, illustrated morphological descriptions, and features of ecology of the species identified are pre- sented. -

WllLIAMS 2 Carrington Place, Tring, Herts., HP23 SLA, England SUMMARY A newly recognized sea anemone, Edwardsia meridionalis sp. nov., from McMurdo Sound, Antarctica is described and compared with other Edwardsia species. Its habitat and geographical distribution are described. The generic name Edwardsia de Quatrefages, 1841 and the familial name Edwardsiidae Andres, 1881 are invalid. A summary of a proposal made to the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature to conserve these names is given. The genus Edwardsia is defined and its known synonyms are given. A review of the published descriptions found of nominal Edwardsia species revealed many nomina nuda, nomina dubia, synonyms and homonyms. The remaining nomina clara comprize forty currently accepted nominal species, which are listed with their known synonyms and geographical distributions. The following nomenclatural changes are instituted: E. carlgreni nom. novo is proposed as a replacement name for E. -

Volume-4, Issue-1, Jan-2015 • ISSN No 2277 - 8160 Commerce Research Paper Fisheries Marine Mollusk Fauna of Kastamonu and Sinop Provinces: A Compiled list of Black Sea Mollusks of Turkey Izmir Katip Celebi University, Fisheries Faculty, Department of Hydrobiology, Mehmet Culha 35620, Balatcık Campus, Cigli, Izmir, Turkey ABSTRACT The study was carried out to determine Mollusca fauna of Kastamonu and Sinop coasts. A seasonal sampling procedure was performed in the area from a variety of biotops in 0-0.5 and 5m depths at 4 stations between July 2007 and May 2008. A total of 11 species and 16823 specimens belonging to Bivalvia; 15 species and 5482 specimens belonging to Gastropoda and 1 species and 1 specimens belonging to Polyplacophora classes were encountered during the study. The presence of the cosmopolitan Bivalve, Pholas dactylus Linnaeus, 1758 was remarked for the first time in this study. Also, in this context, a list of Mollusca fauna of the Black Sea coasts of Turkey is compiled based on various studies carried out in Turkish coasts of the Black Sea. Individual autozooidal behaviour and feeding in marine SARSIA bryozoans. Sarsia 86:113-142. The article is devoted to individual behaviour of autozooids (mainly connected with feeding and cleaning) in 40 species and subspecies of marine bryozoans from the White Sea and the Barents Sea. We present comparative descriptions of the observations and for the first time describe some of autozooidal activities (e.g. cleaning of the colony surface by a reversal of tentacular ciliature beating, variants of testing-position, and particle capture and rejection). Non-contradictory aspects from the main hypotheses on bryozoan feeding have been used to create a model of feeding mechanism. Flick- ing activity in the absence of previous mechanical contact between tentacle and particle leads to the inference that polypides in some species can detect particles at some distance. The discussion deals with both normal and “spontaneous” reactions, as well as differences and similarities in autozooidal behaviour and their probable causes. Approaches to classification of the diversity of bryozoan behav- iour (functional and morphological) are considered. Behavioural reactions recorded are classified using a morphological approach based on the structure (tentacular ciliature, tentacles and entire polypide) performing the reaction. We suggest that polypide protrusion and retraction might be the basis of the origin of some other individual activities. Individual autozooidal behaviour is considered to be a flexible and sensitive system of reactions in which the activities can be performed in different combinations and successions and can be switched depending on the situation. -
