Carta de aterrizaje Olaya Herrera.. ................................................................... 57 RESUMEN Medellín, en la tercera década del siglo veinte, se consideraba la ciudad industrial de Colombia. Evidenciaba la necesidad de modernizar sus medios de transporte de pasajeros y correo para agilizar los negocios y poder ser competitiva frente a las otras ciudades del interior. En ese entonces no era posible viajar por vía aérea desde Medellín. Esta razón llevó a la necesidad de construir un aeropuerto en la ciudad, cuya iniciativa se le debió a Don Gonzalo Mejía. Las gestiones se iniciaron en 1930 y se inauguró en 1932. Inicialmente se le llamó Las Playas y luego se le cambio el nombre por el de aeropuerto Olaya Herrera. Medellín creció y la ciudad se vio obligada a emprender nuevos proyectos para su desarrollo. Uno de ellos fue la construcción de un nuevo aeropuerto, debido a la insuficiente capacidad del Olaya Herrera para atender el volumen de tráfico. En 1973 el gobierno nacional, anunció la construcción del Aeropuerto José María Córdova en Rionegro, el cual comenzó a funcionar en 1985. Aquí empezaron las luchas del Olaya Herrera cuando por decreto se le cancelaron las operaciones aéreas y se destinaron sus instalaciones como parque con fines recreativos, culturales y de conservación del medio ambiente. Sin embargo, la poca viabilidad financiera del parque, la reducción de las operaciones regionales en el José María Córdova y los reclamos de los antiguos usuarios del Olaya, generó una creciente petición de retornar la aviación regional a Medellín. En 1988, se dio de nuevo vía libre a la aviación regional en el Olaya Herrera y a su vez el proyecto del parque recreativo, cultural y para la conservación del medio ambiente, llamado aeroparque Juan Pablo II. Hoy es considerado un terminal aéreo moderno, acorde con las exigencias nacionales e internacionales de la aviación comercial. Su futuro esta en manos de una concesión que integraría seis aeropuertos nacionales. También se plantea la conveniencia en un futuro de mediano o largo plazo, convertirlo definitivamente en un parque pulmón para la ciudad. Palabras

(NYSE: ASR; BMV: ASUR) (ASUR), the first privatized airport group in Mexico and operator of Cancun Airport and eight other airports in southeast Mexico, as well as a JV partner in Aerostar Airport Holdings, LLC, operator of the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, today announced that it has received regulatory approval to consummate its acquisition of Airplan, S.A. Airplan has concessions to operate the following airports in Colombia: the Enrique Olaya Herrera Airport and José María Córdova International Airport in Medellín, the Los Garzones Airport in Montería, the Antonio Roldán Betancourt Airport in Carepa, the El Caraño Airport in Quibdó and the Las Brujas Airport in Corozal. Following consummation of the acquisition, ASUR will own approximately 92.42% of the capital stock of Airplan. The consummation of the Airplan acquisition is expected by the end of October. ASUR has not yet received regulatory approval to consummate its acquisition of Aeropuertos de Oriente S.A.S. (Oriente). In light of the pending regulatory approvals for the acquisition of Oriente, the sellers and ASUR have agreed to negotiate in good faith an adjustment to the purchase price and the terms and conditions of their acquisition agreement, and to use commercially reasonable efforts to obtain the relevant regulatory approvals. Oriente has concessions to operate the following airports in Colombia: the Simón Bolivar International Airport in Santa Marta, the Almirante Padilla Airport in Riohacha, the Alfonso López Pumarejo Airport in Valledupar, the Camilo Daza International Airport in Cúcuta, the Palonegro International Airport in Bucaramanga and the Yariguíes Airport in Barrancabermeja.
