Themalijst Belpop vinylsingels 4 Vooraf De bib van Kortrijk startte in 1968 met een vinylcollectie. Toen de cd de elpee verdrong bleven de elpees nog een tijdje in Open Kast staan tot ze naar het magazijn verdwenen en nog maar sporadisch uitgeleend werden. Ondertussen deden de meeste ‘discotheken’ hun vinylcollectie weg, ofwel via verkoop, ofwel naar een conservatorium in de buurt, ofwel naar het containerpark. Alleen de plaatselijke producten werden gewoonlijk wel bewaard. In 2003 digitaliseerde Radio2 Kortrijk hun gehele audiotheek en kregen we de kans om hun bestaande vinylcollectie over te nemen. Zo kregen we er in één klap ca. 15.000 vinylelpees bij en ca.20.000 vinylsingles Nu hebben we een collectie van ongeveer 27.000 elpees en 27.000 singles. Onze dubbels hebben we zorgvuldig met elkaar vergeleken en de slechtste exemplaren werden verkocht. Wat doen we nu met ons vinyl? We besloten een gedeelte van onze collectie terug voor het publiek open te stellen in de vorm van digitale kopies. Er zijn een aantal wettelijke restricties die we moeten in acht nemen Het proces mag niet beschouwd worden als het digitaliseren om gemakkelijker te kunnen uitlenen. Wettelijk beschouwen we het cd-schijfje niet als een muziek kopie maar als Erfgoedkopie Om de wetten op het auteursrecht en de rechten van de platenmaatschappijen te beschermen mogen we alleen maar vinyl digitaliseren onder de volgende Voorwaarden 1. De lp mag nooit op cd verschenen zijn. 2. De gekopieerde lp blijft eigendom van de bibliotheek. 3. De gekopieerde cd wordt uitgeleend onder de normale voorwaarden, wordt niet verkocht en blijft dus bezit van de bib. 4. Alleen de lp’s van de bib worden gedigitaliseerd, niet die van de leden of andere privépersonen. 5. Alleen volledige lp’s worden gedigitaliseerd, geen afzonderlijke tracks of singles. 6. De originele lp wordt als erfgoed beschouwd en wordt niet meer uitgeleend. Het vinyl wordt gereinigd en met de gratis software Audacity wordt de vinylsingle omgezet in een WAV digitaal bestand. Belpop op vinyl Openbare bibliotheek Kortrijk februari 2014 p. 2 Die bestanden krijgen een naam en worden op een lege CDR gebrand. We maken zelf een hoesje met de titel van de elpee met vermelding van de verschillende tracks en… het is uitleenklaar. In bijna vier jaar hebben we meer dan 2000 vinylitems gedigitaliseerd op aanvraag van bibliotheekgebruikers uit heel Vlaanderen en ook pro-actief: de onbekendere Vlaamse muziek die nooit op dc verschenen is. Wat hebben we opgenomen in deze lijst? Onder Belpop verstaan we alle Belgische muziek, of het nu pop of rock of is. Maar omdat we de Vlaamse pop en rock opnemen in een aparte lijst (Vlaams Vinyl – deel 1 is verschenen in 2013, deel 2 komt er binnenkort) wordt hier alleen de Engelstalige muziek vermeld. Later worden ook de Franstalige singles (mét Belpop) in een aparte lijst opgenomen. Ook de instrumentale Belgische muziek (soms ook Belpop) krijgt nog een lijst apart. Belpop op vinyl Openbare bibliotheek Kortrijk februari 2014 p. 3 Hieronder vindt de fan van Belpop welgeteld 1153 vinylsingles Een deel van die vinyplaatjes zijn al op cd verschenen maar het grootste deel niet. Eerst een paar boeken en cd’s over de voorgeschiedenis Wit-Lof from Belgium (Gust De Coster, 1990) Beeld & Geluid bij : 78 A/witlo We schuiven een beetje verder op in de tijd en arriveren aan de jaren ’80 en ’90. Een schitterende reeks met muziek van de Beste Belgische nummers van die 2 decennia vind je allemaal bij 78 A/bel 80 of 78 A/bel 90 Met dus 20 cd’s à 20 tracks per cd heb je hier wel een staalkaart van wat in die periode verscheen aan opvallende Belgische nummers.
